you see, the thing that bothers me is *almost* every man made drug can be obtained with a prescription of some sort (meth=ritalyn/aderol, heroin/opiates=morphine/oxycodone/contin), but all these amazing, mind expanding chemicals, whether man made or naturally occuring (psilocybin, LSD) are not legal in any way.

 

and then there's that freak salvia

mind expanding, yes, legal, yes, but this can be an extremely frightening experience, even when you're expecting the exact feeling you get. the salvinorin somehow makes what is in front of you become foriegn, and can make these unknown familiar objects start lurching toward you, or it can make gravity suddenly climb up a wall and pull you sideways. HOW CAN SOMETHING THIS MUCH MORE MIND ALTERING THAN PSILOCYBIN BE LEGAL????

 

i suppose the duration could have something to do with that, but who knows. with all the ulterior motives, and election based conformity in legislature, no one can be sure of any law's true purpose now.

 

why is it that almost everything can be found in a pill legally (to some extent)

and yet, there is no legal way to obtain or prescribe to the best, most amazing

How can marijuana be illegal, How can mushrooms be illegal. Yet alcohol and caffeine are legal. Plus stick anything in pill form, and now its legal, we got legalized speed(adarol), meth, heroine(oxycotton), and even thc pills. How can you take plants that grow on this planet earth, that if god exist he put here. You think he Accidently stuck them here, and was like OMG , THERE's MARIJUANA PLANTS AND MUSHROOMS EVERYWHERE, DAMN I HOPE THESE PEOPLE DON't EAT THEM!!!!!!!

Give me some legit reason that makes sense, because it confuses the hell out of me that something that gives so much creativity, helps you get in touch and appreciate nature, opens your mind, gets you to question things, why is something like this illegal (thats mushrooms), weed makes you creative, it gets you to question also and ok i guess it makes you lazy.., we don't want people sleeping and being lazy do we...oh wait but we have fast food resturants, drive throughs, you can almost order anything now in days online, we don't even need to leave the house anymore.

yeahhhh i think that pretty much sums it up. these things are illigal. they shouldnt be. we know the half-truths and false studies taht are released in the intrest of keeping them illigal. what we must now do is make them legal. it is possible, and we are close with marijuana...

That is right. They will not change the law to appease stoners. The approach has begun with the medicinal marijuana and before that, the hemp products such as hemp clothing. This is what will break down the barriers.

 

The avenue that has not seen much action that has real potential (in my mind) is the hemp seed oil as an alternative energy source. I dont know enough about the processing of this to give numbers of btu used to produce x amount of hemp oil btu, but I know they used to use hemp seed oil for home lighting. It has to be easier to convert than corn is.

He is very angry about the ban on the herb here especially as it also applies to genuine medical researchers.

I grew the plant once. It was huge (1.5M) but I lost it in a cold winter so it obviously likes a very warm 9-10? Climate. I din’t have time to really work out what it needs or its medicinal effects. It looks like it could be a very pretty a garden plant. It does not grow from seed.

that is rediculous. in my personal opinion, salvia isnt dangerous at all, even in recreational use. i havent heard of anyone dying from an overdose of the sage, and when under its influence, people rarely even move (mostly because you are likely to fall over when trying to be moble, such as i learned trying to ride a bike on salvia.

 

they do things like that in the states too. medicinal research of LSD has been shown to help skitzophranic patiens in supressing the problem, and yet there has been no research on the drug since the 1960's.

 

to me, many drug laws seem to be simply fore-feeding ethics to the masses. drug use ought to be a personal choice. people say that drugs cuase crime...but those are mostly stimulants, and other nasty drugs. besides, if you can honestly follow the phrase "guns dont kill people, people kill people", the same ought to be legally true for drugs.

But drugs do cause crime

Fist make the plant illegal (a crime)

Then put people in jail when they break the law ( a criminal)

Q.E.D. Drugs cause crime

 

They also corrupt our police force and public officials

The population of female prisoners in Australian prisons a has almost doubled in the last 10 years almost all caused by drugs directly or indirectly (robberies to get money to buy drugs etc etc)

Also since the silly "psychotherapy" of the 80's -'let everyone out of mental hospitals -they are becoming Institutionalised Horror!! Horror!!)

(The Govt thought "Gee we save lots of money this way- we can put up our salaries!)

So now we have bugger all Psychiatric facilities and the homeless, psychotic and drug addicts end up in gaol.

This is an appalling situation

Drugs are rife in prisons and hardened criminals now say prison is hell! Dog-eat-dog not like in the 'good old days' when some camaraderie existed

 

If we decriminalise drugs we take pushers; parasites like the Burma junta; terrorists like those in Afghanistan; out of the picture.

I think there is a big difference bettween Crack Cocaine as used in the West and Coca leaves as chewed in the Andies. But that is a whole new topic.
