The other day I was showing Google Earth to my neighbor. As part of the demonstration I very arbitrarily zoomed in on Madagascar. And what was under my nose? What appeared to be a very large crater. It looked like an impact crater and was not marked by the program as a volcano! Of course I didn't record the coordinates, and have not been able to find it again, but I am still trying. Has anyone come across an amazing sight on one of these satellite programs?

 

Here are the coordinates for Meteor Crater in AZ.

 

35 01 36.67N 111 01 20.10W

 

I am interested in finding other impact craters if you know where they may be.

 

Check out Mt Saint Helens too. Awesome.

hey this isnt a crater, but its a cool dorment volcano.

 

mt. haleakala

takes up about a third of maui! i went up there when i was a kid

i could barely breathe...

it was beautiful.
