I recently discovered a bottle of ethanol in my house so I thought I'd have a go at making the ester 'ethyl ethanoate'

My problem is I don't have any ethanoic acid but knowing that vinegar is primarily made of the stuff I thought I would have a go at concentrating it.

The only way I can think of seprating the ethanoic acid from water is cooling it to around 10C, which is enough to freeze the acid but not water. Hopefuly I should then be able to pour off the excess water and repeat the process until I have a relatively concentrated solution.

Any of you think of any other ways I could seperate them as i'm slightly skeptical on the effectiveness of my method. Thanks
