Harry Costas Posted February 8, 2006 Report Posted February 8, 2006 The Big Bang never happened and the expansion of the universe is a made idea to explain the Big Bang. Do reserch on the Big Bang and its problems. Self reserch is always better than someone convincing you. Quote

Proof/Evidence/Anything?Expansion is just an idea made to explain BB. Proof/Evidence/Anything? ANYTHING?????? Quote
lindagarrette Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 Self reserch is always better than someone convincing you. That would be true if we all had unlimited resources. But we rely on others who have done the research and who have credentials authorized by our society. Otherwise, why would we send our children to school? The difficulty lies in determining who is most reliable. That's why the scientific method is so essential. Quote

The difficulty lies in determining who is most reliable. That's why the scientific method is so essential. It seems you simply parrot what others say. If astronomy students do not yet read Seeing Red (Arp 1998) as part of their mandatory curriculum, they should at least look at Arp's evidence first-hand. In this way, should similar or identical observable patterns manifest themselves at some future epoch, they will unavoidably be able to recognize them and possibly interpret them in a new light - if indeed that becomes necessary. The 'primeval explosion' was only one postulation amongst others (though in the Hayden Planetarium, NY, NY, leaflet the big bang movie is described as a multisensory interpretation of the first moments of the universe). It is something of a miracle that a feature film was made at all considering the immediate theoretical problems, but that the model turned out to be classical or standard in the first place is an even greater wonder. The big bang remains the most internationally well-known cosmological product of this era, but the phenomenon was paralleled in art, literature, music and religion, the different fields influencing each other in various ways. The effort that goes into trying to convince our youngsters we have solved the great mysteries of the universe takes on the flavor and appall of a false advertising campaign. Consumers are assailed by constant repetition of how much better this or that product is whether it's really the same or worse. The only difference here is that there are no other products. CC Quote
InfiniteNow Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 At least CC knows how to support a point. While it's not accepted by the masses, it's well supported in their posts as an alternative possibility. Cheers, CC. :hihi: Quote
