Uncle Martin Posted October 9, 2004 Report Posted October 9, 2004 I finally saw the movie,... yeah,... I'm cheap, had to wait for it to come out on DVD. It was excellent. Very informative. The Kerry people should pay to have it aired on network TV every day for a week prior to the election. What I found most disturbing is that the biggest terrorist organization in the world is actually "my" government. To promote and spend billions of dollars perpetuating unrealistic fears on a global scale for the sole purpose of controlling yet even more of the worlds wealth is a most heinous crime indeed. These people are criminals and should be imprisoned or if you condone capital punishment, executed. Anyone that can assess the evidence and still vote for this criminal must be on his payroll or be irreversibly brainwashed by their churches. Religion and/or obscene wealth are the only things that could possibly account for the "idiot child" getting more than his own one vote. Quote
Freethinker Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 (Moved from closed thread to relevant thread)Originally posted by: TormodI think you need to remember that many people who participate in these forums are NOT moslems. They are Christian. Or they are atheists. Many of them live in a country where the president swears an oath to god, abides by a book which supports killing of infidels (especially the old part of the book). Their country has state-sanctioned executions, sometimes bordering on public executions, even of people who were minors when they committed their crime. By your logic, anyone supporting the government in such a country would be SICK.Yes I agree. I am convinced that anyone that support Bush (obviously your target) right now is either ignorant of the facts (common problem with the Right Wing Media control in the US) or SICK, have a personality flaw. Uncle Martin Posted October 23, 2004 Report Posted October 23, 2004 Isn't it all really just based on religion? The idiot child has virtually decimated the line between church and state, his only true followers are christians? His backers are money brubbing oil tycoons? Does this not sum it all up concisely? Freethinker Posted October 25, 2004 Report Posted October 25, 2004 World 'wants Kerry as president' "Only one in five want to see Bush re-elected," Steven Kull, Program on International Policy Attitudes A new poll in 35 countries suggests that people around the world would prefer Democratic challenger John Kerry as US president over George W Bush. Respondents in all the Latin American countries polled, including neighbours Mexico, also went for the Democrat, with the biggest majority - 57% to 14% - in Brazil. Mr Kerry scored best in traditional US allies, such as Canada and Western European countries. Quote
Freethinker Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 Increase in War Funding SoughtBush to Request $70 Billion More By Jonathan Weisman and Thomas E. RicksWashington Post Staff WritersTuesday, October 26, 2004; Page A01 The Bush administration intends to seek about $70 billion in emergency funding for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan early next year, pushing total war costs close to $225 billion since the invasion of Iraq early last year, Pentagon and congressional officials said yesterday. Freethinker Posted October 29, 2004 Report Posted October 29, 2004 SO now we find that not only were we lied to about the WMD, but it is now obvious that the Bush Admin didn't even care about ANY weapons in Iraq. They completely ignored direct warnings from the UN weapons investigators that the explosives at Al-Qaqaa were one of the most dangerous munitions sites in Iraq. If there was really any interest in making the US safer by stopping terrorists from getting weapons, this site was high on the list! But the Admin didn't care at all. Instead they tried to LIE about it to sqwirm their way out. The first attempt was to claim ignorace, they didn;t know. Well we have seen how ignorant this admin is, so we can believe it. But it is a poor excuse for a "War President" that claims to be keeping us safer. So then they wanted to claim the explosives had been taken before they got there. The fact that they WERE there while the UN was there, still puts the burden on the Admin, but we know the Admin refuses to take responsibility for ANYTHING. But then the KTSP Ch 5 video surfaced. It shows 101st openning sealed bunkers filled with the explosives 9 days after we took Baghdad. And then leaving them open as they left. While Iraqis were actively looting the bunkers in their view! So now the Admin is doing the lowest thing they could, they are blaming the soldiers! Our military is being killed by these explosives. And they want to blame the foot soldiers for their complete failure! They can not stoop any lower! Vote Kerry '04! Quote

And the worst is, nobody will care... Quote
sanctus Posted January 15, 2005 Report Posted January 15, 2005 ARe you sure that nobody will care? A good part of Us-citizen will care and an even better part of europeans will care. Quote
pgrmdave Posted January 15, 2005 Report Posted January 15, 2005 Many US citizens will care, but the majority of the US is rather apathetic towards politics, especially foreign affairs. I should have said, not enough people will care. Quote
hav0k Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 everyone has to many distractions to be anything more than apathetic. fear, for starters, 'since we're on the specific topic of fahrenheit 9/11. fearz an industry now. it's convenient for them to scare the #@!# out of us, so we don't focus on what they're doing. plus, they profit from it. didn't anyone notice the ozarka comercials when the so-called terror alerts were high? =P besides... no one will think about it, so long as it's not on the t00b. i'm refering to the majority of americans, btw. it's like the whole michael jackson thing. when they stopped talking about it on the news? the people stopped talking about it too. lindagarrette Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 it's like the whole michael jackson thing. when they stopped talking about it on the news? the people stopped talking about it too. Well put. Seems we go into a feeding frenzy whenever something "juicy" is on the table, especially if it's bad. Quote
sanctus Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 Welcome to the forum havOk. You simply speak about the people beeing manipulated by the media, isn't that since always like that?Do we know for example how many wars are going on in africa? No, because nobody speaks about it anymore. Or do we know how the things continued in Iran after the huge earthquake about a year ago. The worst in all this is that you can't even really blame the medias, usually they need to interest as many people as possible to survive and does the majority care about rendundant news?I don't know how it is in the US, but over here, people start to care always less about the attacks in Irak (it's only at the end of the news), while in reality it is scandalous! Or about Afghanistan? Or about all the hunger crisis in the third world? Yes, there are the independent medias, but who cares to read them a minority! The fact that there wasn't found any weapon of mass destruction in Irak, is an exeption, this still interests many people, because the mouvement against it what huge (heaps of people who never go in the streets went). And did you notice, how in the last years the blood and fights seen on the news is increasing drastically? An "real action film" is more interesting than just the facts. Quote
Fishteacher73 Posted January 20, 2005 Report Posted January 20, 2005 There is a great spoken word album by Jello Biafra (of Dead Kennedys fame) called "Become the Media." A good discussion about mainstream media and what is chosen to be covered (as well as what is not). Anyone of the more liberal bent would probably enjoy. Quote
hav0k Posted January 21, 2005 Report Posted January 21, 2005 i love the dead kennedys. the prime minister/secretary of defense song on the give me convenience or give me death album is great. sanctus, i'm blaming the people more than the media, btw. we are what we create.. Quote
