How often do you drink Alcohol?

I'm trying to drink a small glass of red wine every day or so. Just tried an expensive and good one; "Buffalo Blood" from Hungary. It was $7.99 (on sale) in USA currency for a regular sized bottle--750ml--I think. I don't drink to get drunk or high.

I rarely drink a glass of wine, and then only on special occasions.

 

The rest of the time, I finish the bottle. :D (bu-dump-tshh)

 

I find it curious that the biggest response is "don't drink". That's foreign, though somehow comforting to me. :)

Addendum: Okay, I've been drunk SIX times in my whole life.

 

Last week (Friday) on my way home from work, I decided to stop at the neighborhood wine bar, which is just 3 short blocks from my house. Biz was light--only 4 customers. The bartender suggested a new white wine and I accepted. We got to talking. I had a second glass of the same. Good stuff. I don't remember what it was. But I DO have a 2-drink rule that I always live by. So, after the second glass, there was no question about going home.

 

I got out to my van, feeling slightly woozy, but right as rain. I got in, and very carefully drove home, noticing that my buzz was increasing. I parked the car in my driveway and shut off the engine. As I transferred to my wheelchair, I slipped, pitched forward, and found myself leaning face-first on the passenger seat. [black out for unknown period of time] My wife asked me if I was okay and I said, sure, I'm fine, I just can't get up. She pushed me upright. [black out for unknown period of time] My wife gave me a glass of water in the living room and told me to drink it. Are you sure you're okay? I said, yes, just a bit woozy. [black out for unknown period of time] I threw up in the bathroom sink. [black out for unknown period of time] I woke up in bed, in the dark. I felt fine, no nausea, no buzz or anything. I lay there in the dark trying to remember how I got there, trying to reconstruct everything that had happened since leaving the wine bar. I couldn't.

 

Lesson: When drinking on an EMPTY STOMACH, follow the 1-DRINK-RULE. :)

I drink on average one beer every two or three days but i do occasionally break out the tequila and drink pretty much the whole fifth if i am in the mood but that happens maybe three ties a year.

Why does Goldschlauger (or however you want to spell it) put gold flakes in their alcohol?

 

It tastes great, but I almost can't drink it

because the concept of drinking gold

just blows my mind.

It is merely a marketing ploy to elevate Goldschlager above all the other brands of cinnamon schnapps. The gold flakes are added to give the appearance of wealth and prosperity (hey look at me, I am drinking gold). They add nothing to the liquor. PS, try a Fireball. Cinnamon schnapps on ice with 2 dashes of Tabasco sauce.

It looks like you and I are the only drinkers around here. The rest seem to be a bunch of featherweights. I drink half of a 1.5 liter bottle of rum every day. It is the only way I ever get any sleep, and I just happen to like it. :D

.. and I think there are two this year.. there was no option that covered this so I didnt vote..

 

Last year I got drunk.. once.. I went to a strip in a pub.. usually Dan (driver) stands back while I perform.. however in this instance he was outside talking with the in laws of the stag boy.. little did he know.. while he was outside.. I was inside dancing around shot glasses and downing them one after the other.. lmao I had such a good time.. I was absolutely totalled by the time I left the strip much to Dan's horror.. no-one has ever seen me in that state in the 6 years I have worked there.. The end result was.. I worked for the rest of the night.. albeit drunk for a few hours.. and well looked after..

 

One of the reasons I dont drink is because of the in-ability to be in control.. and especially in the industry I work.. its not a good thing to be drinking..

In your line of work, the anti-inhabition effects of alcohol would not be a good idea. You might end up going farther than you wanted or intended. Lay off the hooch when bumping and grinding.
