day by day, the music plays

from morning till dawn

from march to may

its sorrow forever drawn

by the beats of a lonesome heart

the pain still sounds

but agony departs

its way never meant to be found

through the ears nor the eyes

yet its essence could still be felt

through the night, you could hear its cries

through the day, it could only be dealt

time could not simply erase it

for it could be heard from bottomless pits

what is the subject that is being described in The poem?

please help

AND SORRY I DID NOT KNOW WHERE ELSE TO POST THIS

Hey there TEKENA.

Neat limrick.

Every reader will see something different, although there may be overlap in those visions. Let's say there's an apple sitting on the countertop.

One person may see a piece of fruit.

Another may see potential for a pie.

Another a source of color for inspiration to a painting.

A blind person may not see the apple at all...

Someone else may see all of these things at once.

But what I saw in the poem above was despair.

I've heard that the world around us serves as a mirror sometimes. I guess I'd better chin up, eh? :rainbow:

Cheers. :rainbow:

the subject is in the eye of the beholder. Art is cool like that- you can interpret it however you like. There is no Definite answer to your question....

the closest I can come to answering your question... is with another question-

what do you want it to be about?

I Need The Answer Please

Douglas Adams wrote four books of a story (The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy) about getting THE Answer. Trouble is, nobody bothered to specify exactly what the Question was.

I like the poem. It speaks to me as it probably does for everyone. But even if you asked the author of the poem, he/she might give you a fuzzy answer, or a different answer every day.

To me, the poem speaks of "Regret" -- the despair of knowing you cannot go back and change your mistakes. But that's just me.

There is no THE Answer.

Hi Tekena,

You realize that we were not trying to be difficult, right? I am guessing this was some sort of course assignment and you thought that it would have an exact answer (like "what's 1+1?" Well, that's 2)... The only definite answer is what you see... that the answer depends on the reader.

What did you wind up with? What is the subject of the poem to you?
