inside the sun Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 why do people get jobs they dislike?why do people become teachers then sit there complaining instead of taking action or learning how to deal with kids that disrupt, you were a student in highschooll you know what to expect, teach college if you can't handle highschool, or if you want to be a control freak and control kids teach grade school, and if you just want to tell kids to take a nap teach preschool! :cocktail: Quote

InfiniteNow Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 Because sometimes a job you dislike is better than no job at all. We do what we can to survive and ensure the survival of those we love. Unfortunately, this sometimes means we must sacrafice. Quote
TheBigDog Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 If you have your mind set on being disruptive, can a teacher stop you? When you have decided that the teacher is a complete load and an intellectual dolt, could they convince you to participate in their class? Would your parents intervene on behalf of the teacher to get you into line? Ask this same question about your friends. There was a time when teachers were empowered to bring kids into line. Now that gets them fired for stifling the creativity of bright minded out-of-control teens. And parents were concerned with the image projected onto them when a kid acted out, like a bad kid meant bad parenting and they would be embarrassed if you were acting out in school. Instead they blame the system for not being sensitive to their kid's "individual needs". Some people just can't be happy. But teachers are set up for failure today. Bill Quote
