whatdoiknowanyway Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 Opps! Pressed the wrong button earlier. I'm new to all this, but I'll soldier on. I came across this site by chance and liked it. Hope I can learn something and perhaps impart a little. Quote

InfiniteNow Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 Thank you TheBigDog. I'll just pour myself a large Scotch, and watch the postings for now.Cheers WDIKA! You a highland single malt conesseur? One of my favorites is Glenrothes or Glen Morangie/15 year . Check this crazy nonsense out too:http://www.liquorsnob.com/archives/2005/11/johnnie_walker_releases_27000_scotch.php ...but, I'm really more of a 100% Agave Tequila guy when it comes down to it. Anyway, hello, and enjoy. :( Quote
whatdoiknowanyway Posted January 26, 2006 Author Report Posted January 26, 2006 Hello InfiniteNow. I'll partake of any genuine Scotch or Irish. I've tried that stuff from the colonies, but couldn't realy get a taste for it. One mans poison.L.O.L. That Jhonnie Walker is, I believe, just a little overpriced.:( Quote
InfiniteNow Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 That Jhonnie Walker is, I believe, just a little overpriced.:(Indeed... Can you say, "Overpriced collector's item?" Let me ask you, how would you chaps and your mates rank Chivas Regal? What about the whiskies? Bushmill's, Jameson, and so forth... Being a colonial lad like yourself, you probably enjoy the occasional Boddington's too, no? Okay, as you could probably tell by now, I've never been to England. :( Quote
whatdoiknowanyway Posted January 26, 2006 Author Report Posted January 26, 2006 Boddingtons? Nah, thats from Manchester. If you want a good beer, try Newcastle Brown Ale. I KNOW you can buy it in the States. Jamesons and Bush Mills are excelent tipples, as is Chivas Regal but my prefered drink is Glen Fiddich. But that's just my personal taste. There is no such thing as a bad whisky/whiskey.:( Quote
InfiniteNow Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 Boddingtons? Nah, thats from Machester. If you want a good beer, try Newcastle Brown Ale. I KNOW you can buy it in the States. Jamesons and Bush Mills are excelent tipples, as is Chivas Regal but my prefered drink is Glen Fiddich. But that's just my personal taste. There is no such thing as a bad whisky/whiskey.:(Yes, I used to drink the hell out of some Newcastle Brun Ale back in college! My roomate and I would get kegs of it for our parties (of which, there were several :( ) Am well versed in it's ways... No such thing as a bad whiskey, eh? What about Cutty Sark? Quote
whatdoiknowanyway Posted January 26, 2006 Author Report Posted January 26, 2006 Now I didn't say that all whisky was good. Some are not as good as others, but never having tried Cutty Sark, at least to the best of my knowlege, I wouldn't like to comment. Anyway, I thought The Cutty Sark was a Tea Clipper. :( Quote
whatdoiknowanyway Posted January 26, 2006 Author Report Posted January 26, 2006 You don't have relations in Boston... Do you? Quote
InfiniteNow Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 You don't have relations in Boston... Do you?Well, I've been "being intimate" with a girl who's from there originally, but I'm pretty sure that's not what you meant. I do not have family there. Originally from New York and now in Texas. edit: original reference to intimacy too harsh. Quote
whatdoiknowanyway Posted January 26, 2006 Author Report Posted January 26, 2006 O.K. So the tea trade is safe for now. Good job The Cutty Sark is in dry dock.:( Quote
Tormod Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 Single Malter here....any Islay will do! :( Quote
whatdoiknowanyway Posted January 27, 2006 Author Report Posted January 27, 2006 Hello Tormod. Ah, the brotherhood of whisky lovers is truly worldwide. Fraternal greetings to all imbibers.:( Quote
Boerseun Posted January 27, 2006 Report Posted January 27, 2006 Yup. Glen Fiddich's the way to go, but not if you drink a lot and don't have much money at the same time... Quote
whatdoiknowanyway Posted January 27, 2006 Author Report Posted January 27, 2006 Boerseum. You are absolutely correct. That's why I have to take it easy. That way it's all the more enjoyable.:( Quote
Guadalupe Posted January 30, 2006 Report Posted January 30, 2006 Hi! whatdoiknowanyway. Welcome to Hypography Forums. I used to sit down by the kitchen table with my grandfather and listed to his old stories about Pancho Villa, while sipping Tequila, from a shot glass. Those were very fond memories. Boston Tea Party... :surprise: :gift: Quote
