I'm new... wondering about alien opinions...

This is my first post and i'm not English, so any mistakes, please help.

I just read the book, Majestic, Yes, it is fantastic.

One question, If the government do cover-ups all the time, that I do understand totally, but what if the truth came out? What will the public attitude be towards the government.

I an no sceptic nor true believer, But some serious points do came up. If they really captured a disk, (and bodies) back in 1947 and even had a agreement with the alliens, why do they still persue the idea of goiing to mars with conventional rockets.

I do believe that IF their is a trade between the government and the alliens, the alliens is really giving us a lot of bull#$%&* technology.

Another point is, I just hope that the rest of the people will stop make-up haoxes and persue the real issue. That is why there is so much non-believers or sceptics around the believers.

I do believe that our human race is not ready for any real ET contact. We even believed that the earth was flat not so long ago, and now we want to make contact with alliens! We cannot even leave our own gravity pull without massive rockets. Our scientist spending years on new technology, but they still not thinking outside the closet.

But yes, there is something goiing on, and it will go on for a real long time, that I can promiss you all.

I am anxious to see what some of you guys think of this video footage, taken from a helicopter in Japan, of a UFO. You can just see it on the left, to the right of the hirise, then it SHOOTS to the right, then, buzzes the chopper, turning away at the last minute, leaving a trail of vapor.... They slow it down a few times too.... I know.... seems to defy the laws of intertia.....

Hello,

This is my first post on hypography.com (after the Introduction post), so I am not allowed to post any links yet (at least 10 posts are required before links are allowed... which is an anti-spam measure).

The video you linked in your post is found in many places on the Internet. It is also a hoax that was done for a commercial for the Sci-Fi channel. The actress is Barbara Sicuranza. To find a link to sites that demonstrate that this video is a hoax, do a google search with the above terms, and you will find the links, I suggest the link on Rense.com.

Some of the most impressive and reliable reports of UFOs are from pilots and other persons who are trained observers. I suggest checking out youtube.com or googlevideos.com and use the search field with the following terms... "Unsolved mysteries, UFO"... and also "black box pilot UFO". I was amazed with what is on those videos... check it out. (Warning: be prepared to spend some time watching the programs... they are fascinating and are difficult to stop watching)

Firstly, I'd like to turn BigDog's question on its backside - why are we going into outer space, let alone aliens coming here? To me it seems people (not necessarily you BG) always say something from the future is not possible, based on evidence (limits/beliefs) from the past - planes will never fly/ trains can't travel at more than ten miles an hour or the occupants will suffocate/ space travel is impossible etc. The truth is we don't know and can't know anything outside our experience either as individuals or civilizations.

Secondly, the motives of others, real or imaginary will always remain a mystery for the last reason given above but we can guess from comparing them with our own - secret or open? Mass sightings or landings? What do they gather and why?

As for how they got here - ask humanity in a few thousand years how it conquered space, if it survives (See also my recent post in 'Does Evolution Drive Life?' as it is connected bit about new running away from old to create progress. What we don't know about what is possible is only equalled by what we have discovered so far (If we're lucky).

Interesting twist, Paige. I would say that the reason's I outlined in 2/9/06 post still stand: pure research, raw material needed, territory needed.

If we look far enough into the future we find that humanity has all of its eggs in one basket we call Earth. It is statistically just a matter of time until an event happens that challenges our ability to survive here, so we need to move beyond our earth for the survival of our species.

If we look farther into the future the sun is eventually going to supernova, substantially increasing the difficulty of living in this solar system. Life could continue without the aid of a star, but it would be very different than today, and the long term sustainability (hundreds of years) is in question. Which brings us back to the inevitable need for mankind to move beyond the earth and ultimately to another planet; warmed and energized by its own star. We must do it for the survival of the species, and that makes our research into the fundamentals of space travel building toward interplanetary travel an evolutionary imperative.
