InfiniteNow Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 Orby's avatar (and I suppose, to some extent, the artist responsible for it) got me thinking... and boy, does my brain hurt. :hihi: Change is the only constant, the only thing that stays the same. Our exchanges on this forum have led me to ask: Are we geopoliticus children? Are we witnessing the birth of a new man?Of what might this new man (human/society/etc) be composed?Where might it all lead? We are constantly 'hatching,' pushing through the shells which have surrounded us for millenia. What do you foresee will comose the world outside... in front of us? Comments, good, bad, and otherwise are encouraged. :rain: Cheers.
Queso Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 I'm hoping we'll evolve to the point where we can move freely along Time's dimension, just like we do through space. Convorsations are becoming more intriquit,Interactions are allowing our unconcious to influence and surfacein strange waysthat i can not explainNOR does it seem likethe last generation,or the generation before thatcould have a momentas weird as some of the moments that I have with people. I believe we are going to evolve into what some like to call Neo-Humans.But how can I? I'm really just riding along, observing..you know? Not necessarily WAITING for things to happen, not even...searching,Just sort of stumbling accross the universeand I can't close my eyes! I'm happy to have inspired you.
Queso Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 you know, OF course we're still evolving. Our physical bodies adjusting to this BULLSHIT way of life we live. I'm sorry.I really, really disagree with the way the world works. It makes me cry sometimes because I HAVE to live like this. But then I get up,go to the mountainstake off my clothessmoke a jointand play guitar in the sun.Far,far,FAR away from any one's Illusions. OUR MINDSare evolving tooHow?I think we're evolving to use it MORE.now...whatever more means, I have no idea. We'll probably be able to process things a lot faster, recall memories a lot more thoroughlyand you know...Surf the cosmos in our sleep like it's nothing. I think lucid dreaming will become a part of everybody's lifesomeday. It's just to be aware in a subconcious state, rather than surfaced. To be conciousand move around the universewhile lying there, resting. To cry is really strange. To laugh, now that is a beautiful thing. You can find me on the side of the street some daysjust laughingat every silly facethat drives by and wonderswhy I'm staring at them. LAUGH LAUGH LAUGH at how menacing it is to know, the algorithm rhythmic flowOF THE UNIVERSE! Who knows what Is to come? Orbsycli sure does not. But he loves to think about it.
Queso Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 think about the evolutionary time-scale paradigm,we're DUEfor something weird to happenwe are DUEfor the next step in evolution.
InfiniteNow Posted February 10, 2006 Author Report Posted February 10, 2006 I'm really just riding along, observing..you know? Not necessarily WAITING for things to happen, not even...searching,Just sort of stumbling accross the universeand I can't close my eyes! The love in our hearts not only causes the sadness, but overwhelms it. A critical mass can fix a critical mess, and our collective selves can serve as a gravity well of advancement if we focus it. We're on the same train bro, loving the countryside and humidifying our tear ducts upon witnessing it.
Queso Posted February 10, 2006 Report Posted February 10, 2006 If only i could give you some rep points for that last post.Brotherly Conduct.Amicable Mien. InfiniteNow 1
InfiniteNow Posted February 10, 2006 Author Report Posted February 10, 2006 <sigh> cartoons...creation...nuclear capacity...chemical capacity...biological capacity... <sigh> Where are we heading? We can't stop it, but can we do it right? Contemplative...
arkain101 Posted February 11, 2006 Report Posted February 11, 2006 I think our dream life will start merging with our awake life. Recently my dreams have been so incredibly vivid and strange and I am able to make choices as nearly as clear as I can now. If in my dreams I am not somehow in a different reality, then I am becoming an amazing creator of a reality that functions without my own effort to make it function, dreams that take on a life of their own and you can venture in its realm. Last night I was in a bunch of really weird different like dimensions or places, and I kept seperating from my body, I would move somewhere then pull and pull and look back and see my body laying there asleep, then Id slip back into regular consciousness and feel my body trying to get up but being so asleep it was paralized so I couldnt, and yet I felt that I was awake at least my consciousness. So I drifted away again and looked into a mirror, and saw that there are two so called dimensions to light. I saw whatever in the world I was floating around in the mirror, and kind of goopy ball, then in the other dimension It would change to my body. The next thing I knew I am flying through space or somewhere, someone says to me in a booming voice, THERE ARE TWO WAYS TO SEE LIGHT, AND THE LIGHT! Before me appears a painting I painted years ago, all in a big rush, I saw the painting and something seperated the for ground and background of the painting, showing me the two ways, then Boom the painting turns to a white screen and I fly into it and wake up like an explosion in my bed."two ways to see the light" I say to myself, a little confused as to where I was.. lol.. yeehoo.
InfiniteNow Posted February 13, 2006 Author Report Posted February 13, 2006 You know, Orby... I don't think your avatar is the Salvador Dali painting I referenced. Is this the case? Either way... no worries, but if I mis-represented it, what does it represent?
Tarantism Posted February 13, 2006 Report Posted February 13, 2006 really, when talking about the progress of mankind, two things come to MY mind. 1. the majority of humans today are stupid, inept and manipulated into a society where they work their entire lives to serve a cause grater than themselves. 2. i agree with orb, there isnt any point watching or waiting. hell, the first humans to develop new traits will do so slowly and even when new qualities and abilities are reached it probably will noy be apparent to the general populous for several generations. progress is ineveitable, and though we can speculate all we want about what may happen and a "who is right who is wrong" attitude, and there isnt anything wrong with that as long as we keep in mind that it is simply speculation. honestly i believe that everyone, even science will be better off when we recognize that our universe has a symbiotic relationship with itself.
InfiniteNow Posted February 13, 2006 Author Report Posted February 13, 2006 You seem down today tartanism... a one cent piece for your cogitations?
Queso Posted February 13, 2006 Report Posted February 13, 2006 2. i agree with orb, there isnt any point watching or waiting. hell, the first humans to develop new traits will do so slowly and even when new qualities and abilities are reached it probably will noy be apparent to the general populous for several generations. Dude, understand the evolutionary paradigmhow each time increment (next step in evolution) is getting smallerand smallerand reaching a cresendo.Once you fathom thatyou will realize that your text that i quoted above is completely wrong. honestly i believe that everyone, even science will be better off when we recognize that our universe has a symbiotic relationship with itself. Definition of Symbiotic: Biology. A close, prolonged association between two or more different organisms of different species that may, but does not necessarily, benefit each member. (quoted from dictionary.com) How can the universe have a symbiotic relationship with ITSELF?the things in it do, YEAHjust look at the mushroom.not the universe with itself.Maybe the universe, as a universe, has a symbiotic relationship with something that we can't begin to comprehend,BLAH BLAH BLAH
Queso Posted February 13, 2006 Report Posted February 13, 2006 hahahah whoopswrong thread. If anything i said up there makes no sense.disregard it.i thought i was talking in another thread. haha i just woke up, gimme a break and a brownie.
Queso Posted February 13, 2006 Report Posted February 13, 2006 Phew, anyways. My avatar is just some trippy painting i discovered while scouring the internets art gallery's one night. It can be whatever you want, but I see birth coming, and I see womb. It doesn't look like dali at all, i didn't even know you were referring to him.Dali: "i don't need drugs, i am drugs"
InfiniteNow Posted February 13, 2006 Author Report Posted February 13, 2006 It doesn't look like dali at all, i didn't even know you were referring to him.Dali: "i don't need drugs, i am drugs"Morning Orby... thanks for the clarification. But, not at all???
CraigD Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 Are we geopoliticus children? Are we witnessing the birth of a new man?I don’t think so Are we all cells in a larger, “superorganism”, of which we are no more aware than the cells of our bodies are aware of us? Maybe so, I think. Almost by definition, it’s very hard to say for sure, yes or no.Of what might this new man (human/society/etc) be composed?Us, and other living and unliving matter organized in a way that can process informationWhere might it all lead?To a great, god-like intelligence at the end of time, capable of all things for a subjective eternity, or possibly capable of creating the beginning of the universe that created us/it. I’m just speculating – if you want to read some people who are more certain of this scenario, search out info on term like “Omega Point” and Eschaton, or read something like Tipler’s “The Physics of Imortality”
Tarantism Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 im still skeptical about the "...in our lifetime" statement. i understand the basic concept, and i agree that it is all quite plausable, perhaps even exciting. i also understand that the incriments have been shorter and shorter...but mankind as we know it cant have been around for much more than 15,000 years...and i will restate that homo-erectus took 250,000 years to make enough significant change to then be called homo-sapien. that would be such a drastic jump in evolutionary trend that it could be scary. im not disagreing, im simply doubting that it will be in our lifetime. also, i dont think that we can even fathom the cresendo of human evolution until it has passed. there is no limit until the par has been set.
