Those 2 who voted Germany accurately predicted the future.

According to the poll there were 3 of us that voted that Germany would win the most. I was one and I think Gahd was another. No idea on the third though.

I voted with heart first and head second. My poll vote was for USA. Germany won the medal count in 2002. The USA almost doubled their best medal performance for a foreign Winter Olympics. I am astounded by how some of the European countries dominate particular sports with the small population bases. Goes to show how culture plays into human acheivment. My hat is off to all the athletes!

Condolences to Tormod's team....From King Kaufman's column today on Salon:

Could have been worse, though. We could be Norwegians, who actually care about these sports during the other 206 weeks of each Olympiad, and who won two gold medals here, tied for 13th place with China, one behind Estonia. This would be like the U.S. winning fewer gold medals in a Summer Games than Bulgaria.

I've certainly been too busy watching ice skating to post much here for the last two weeks, but now that *that's* out of the way... :hyper:
