ok, so, I've developed this horrible habit of only sleeping every other night for 14 hours at a time. Is this a minor case of insomnia?

I'm sure this can't be healthy... but I have a hard time breaking it.... I'm just wondering what I can do to help me break this habit.

An alarm clock? avoiding certain foods near the end of the day?

And help would be much appreciated

It will pass Drip. Sometimes I get a little manic when I have something particularly interesting on my mind. Then I can be up for days. It happens less now that I am older.

I am lucky to get 6-7 hours a night during the week. One day each weekend I end up crashing for 11 or 12 hours to recharge.

When I am late for things in the morning I tell people that I suffer from Newtonian Physics... A body in motion tends to stay in motion, a body at rest tends to stay at rest. When I am awake, I tend to keep going and going and going. And when I sleep, I tend to sleep and sleep and sleep. I think it comes down to the day being the wrong length for my body. I would love to be part of a society with a 28 hour day. A week would still be 168 hours, but there would only be 6 days in a week. The light/dark cycle would be different every day, but similar for each weekday. Farmers would hate it.

___My circadian clock has always ticked contrary to the 'normal' day. Up 'till the wee hours & rise in the late morning, but usually 7 hours of sleep. Lately I have been extremely on edge (not Turtle!:) ) & getting only 3 or 4 hours of sleep. It is largely due to receiving notice I have to move & having to answer phone calls from realtors (it's not even my house for crying out loud!:) ) as well as allow strangers to go through my whole house.

___Bunch of freakin strangers inventorying our goods & commenting on our lifestyle, making demands, reading our mail, opening closets without permission, taking liberties, making stupid small talk, etc. You know I can't think straight when I start discussing politics.:) It is seriously affecting my health; I haven't bathed or shaved in days, I have no appetite & I'm loosing weight, & of course I can't sleep. :) I am flat freakin' out here!

Can I come take a tour of your house? I will bring all 4 kids. We'll stop and have ice creame right before we get there so the kids will be both hyper and sticky. :)

You won't even notice us being there!

Sure thing Bill! Bring the dog(s) too. I'll schedule some realtors to cooincide with your visit. You'll get a kick out of the looks on their faces when I start talking about the Ivy, dendrochronology, Katabataks, etc.. Heck, if you can spare a week I'll hike you all up to Mt. St. Helens with the survival wagon (you should see the looks they give that; I finally covered it up).:)

Charlie(the dog) would be the happiest of all. He loves realtors, much more than they love him. He also loves to chase (and kill) critters. I am learning how to whisper him out of that habit. #4 being 3 would love to pull the wagon. #3 being who he is would tell us folk tales about the mystical animals that live in the woods near your house. Some of them will scare him, and others will be rare and beautiful. He will have a couple of his friends along with him for protection and company. #2 would love to find all the mud in the area. He is a mud magnet. And #1 would wonder if there was any way to not be there so he could spend his time doing nothing else. Meantime you and I could sit back and enjoy the show that is life unfolding.

Try to make it during an open house! #4 loves to use the toilet with the door open so he can give you the play by play - "Its corn!" - true quote.
