  1. 1. What do you think is the most common reason an old thread is re-awakened? (choose 1)

    • Poster genuinely has something new to add
    • Poster feels the current population has something new to add
    • Nothing new to add, but want to ensure the current population gets to see an old thread
    • Poster needs to be heard (must express themselves) regarding a subject raised in the old thread
    • Other (please explain)

___In keeping with my vote for #3, behold a Phoenix Thread::doh:

http://hypography.com/forums/physics-mathematics/1220-strange-numbers.html

___This is one of the first threads I started & I give it the 'phoenix treatment' every once in a while to forestall its closure & bring it to the attention of new members.

___After making my initial discoveries of the sets & expositing them here, I exhausted my computer capacity for further exploration (save months long runs). I think these sets of Strange Numbers et al have a fine potential as Distributed Computing projects. :)

Cool idea, Turtle. This thread can also be a good way for cool threads to be brought back around. I saw a cool one on Schroedingers Cat by a similar post...

EDIT: that's got to be one of my shortest posts ever, yet I said "cool" three times... I need to get out more...
