jamesgp214 Posted February 23, 2006 Report Posted February 23, 2006 French archaeologists have taken pottery from ancient Pompeii and played the grooves back like a record to get the sounds of the pottery workshop, including laughter. via http://www.bilgesehir.com/c_filmo_principale/e_vases_sonores/Bilge%20Sehir%20-%20Vases%20sonores.htm Click "Pour visionner le video" to play the short video which contains a sample of the audio Quote
Tormod Posted March 1, 2006 Report Posted March 1, 2006 I'm a bit disappointed they didn't get a recipe for Roman pizza. Quote
GAHD Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 well ,the science behind it seems souns enough(pardon the pun). Whoever figured out pottery could act like a record is a master of the obvious. I should run a few vases through a phonograph and see what I get sometime...i wonder what a ming would sound like? Quote
