Chalk up another one! Today I had the pleasure of meeting none other than PrgmDave! Dave and his friend Angela came to a party at my sister's house in NJ and were treated to the full family and friends effect. The only problem was that I had forgotten to mention to anyone that I had invited him, so when he showed up he got some quizzical looks from the sisters, but was welcomed with the same enthusiasm that we reserve for all strangers who show up to a family affair claiming to know someone from the Internet. Meanwhile I was wandering among the guests, most of whom I have not seen in ten years or so, while suffering the effects of a 100 degree fever. Things were rather blurry to tell you the truth, and it got pretty packed in the house, but I think it is safe to say that a good time was had by all. Not only did Dave and Angela get to meet me; they got to listen to my dad and uncle trade stories about my grandfather; about racing cars; about philosophy; about religion; about racing bikes; about steam engines; about teaching; about lots of stuff! They met me, #2, #3, and #4, two sisters, my parents, my Mom's cousin and his wife, my Uncle, my cousin, two neices, one nephew, my Dad's friend Dave (at the table of Daves; Dave... Dave... Dave... Dave...) and his girlfriend. My sister's college roommate and her daughter, about six other friends of my sisters, the people from across the street, a lady who has know us since I was a toddler and her daughter, and at least 6-8 teens friends of my neice who we didn't see much of.

The party was for me since I had not spent much time in Jersey in... 10 years? That is when I built the treehouse, but I was there the next summer too, so nine years ago since I have spent more than a day or two.

It was great meeting you Dave. And Angela. I got at least one picture with you and I will post it when I get it off my sister's camera. I hope it was worth the 2 hour ride! I for one am thrilled that you made the drive. You are always welcome to stop in and have some grub.

By the way Tormod and I have met as well, twice. Even if we live in the same city since 2-point-something months. Bill looks like you are the winner anyway, because Tormod is the only hpographer I ever met...you are at least up to 2...

Gosh Bill,

you are better looking than Tormod said you were! ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

Say, everybody, my company in its semi-infinite wisdom, is sending me to the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Maryland on April 15 (Tax Day) to give a presentation there on The Sources of Software Failure.

Do any of you Hypographers hail from Maryland?

Any of you live within an hour's drive of Goddard?

Wanna meet me for supper on the evening of April 15???

Of course, that means you'll have to have your taxes already done and submitted. :( :) :(

I live in Maryland! Unfortunately, I'll be at college on April 15.

This sucks. I've been waiting for Hypographers to come to my area for a while now!

(Although I still haven't met Craig, and he lives relatively close to me:eek:)

A Note On: The right place, wrong time.

Well, at least until April 15, I can feel special for having met the man behind the legend, the brains behind the yawn brawn, the cunning linguist and post-fundamentalist scientist... P-Tex.

This message has been brought to you by "Mr. Central Casting." :)

Infinite, I love you, man.

If I ever need a PR agent, you're hired.

P.S.-- Craig said he could make it for supper on April 15. :)

Yup. 409 miles to be (almost) exact. It's a shame you won't be there in the next week or so. I'm on Spring Break as of riiiiiighhhht.... NOW.
