InfiniteNow Posted March 1, 2006 Report Posted March 1, 2006 I know that, for me anyway, this changes with each passing moment, and depends on what my mood is currently, but sharing beauty is important. The most beautiful thing I've ever seen? Wow, that's tough. A valley around the Hudson River minutes after a fresh snow fall, looking down from a mountain peak above. An adolescent child giving up his seat to an old woman on a crowded subway train. The eyes of a beautiful woman staring back at me reciprocating my feelings of awe.The first public image captured after Hubble ST was launched.A reflection of flames from a fire dancing on a surface of water. The stars... a smile... A color green that beyonds describe.... It's a Tiger Thing. 5) The sunset from my deck, with my Herb garden surrounding me, freshly watered, with a horizon with a beautiful blend of Pink and Yellow from the smog and atmosphere......... :hyper: :phones: Quote
ughaibu Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 Coming out of the Arctic, in the summer and again experiencing night was a melancholy visual effect, by contrast it might be that the permanent daylight was my "most beautiful thing". Quote

Cedars Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 Most beautiful is hard to determine. One experience that popped into mind right away. One summer night I returned to my parents home to find a brother in the yard looking up. He was watching the northern lights. It was like mid-June and this is very unusual for us to see them when its sooo warm out. Wave after wave passed overhead, like a fog but like a white cap wave. We went across the road to our hay field on top of the hill. To the north, the image was like you see on an seismograph recording an earthquake. Sharp beams of varied heights all along the northern sky. Some so bright they seemed as spotlights. These were the waves headed our way. As they neared it was like a wave rolling so slowly, parts moving faster, then slowing. Pieces mixing together like a thin wispy cloud forming new waves. Looking up the waves made you dizzy as they swirled around into new patterns. This was when you could see the spaces of black star laden sky as the wave moved past. When the wave was overhead, the stars dimmed and some disapeared. And Pink Floyd - Echos played from the boom box we had brought along. So many times the waves seemed to flow with the music. Me and my brother watched the show for a few hours. Quote
Drip Curl Magic Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 most beautiful thing I'd ever seen. Was when I hiked to the top of a HUUUUUUUUGGGGE mountain in yosemite... looking out upon the valley below me.... half dome looked so tiny and far away. I was so far up, it was almost to the point of vertigo. -slightly. It was just.... amazing. Being so high up there... with nothing but nature and a couple other friendly hikers every once in a long while. Next time I go back.... I'm getting naked.... and running around with all the bambi's and birdies. no doubt. Quote

Jay-qu Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 In no particular order. Snapper rocks, 6ft and offshore. Peeling down the super-bank. Looking deeply into the eyes of someone you love and seeing love back Mt Feathertop on a beautifully clear day after heavy snow fall Sunsets (and sunrises) over the ocean The stars, on a clear night way out in the country away from the city light Quote
Michaelangelica Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 Swimming with a Giant Sea Turtle on the Great Barrier Reef; Lady Elliot islandShe was huge, old and ageless and beautiful. Completely serene and in charge of her environment; disinterested and uninterested in me. One fin had a bit missing from a shark bite. I lost track of time. She was beautiful.I swam and snorkled with her for ages. Time stopped. I suffered the next day from massive sunburn! InfiniteNow 1 Quote

InfiniteNow Posted December 26, 2006 Author Report Posted December 26, 2006 :) My grandmother's smile as she opened my holiday present to her a few days ago (a photo album I'd put together with the help of my girlfriend, starting with pictures from decades ago up through now and a synopsis of what's going on in my world).
