You know what you like.

You also know what you don't really care for.

Classical music bores you

Rap offends you...

Shoes on the other foot! What music do you Disdain?

What Station do you channel over?

What music do you simply not care about???

yes it is a Multiple Choice poll

Whatever #1 or my wife wants to listen to is usually crap. She with her god awful late 70's punk (99% garbage), and him with whatever he thinks will be offensive to me (and he is usually right on the money).

I voted for all of them.

I don't discriminate any style of music.

You can find talent in any form of music.

No matter what style it's composed in.... you can still use any note/harmony/time signature/octave/chord/arpeggio/scale

I listen to TALENT.

If it's composed beautifully, who cares what style or scene it depicts? it deserves to be listened to.

Gregorian chants. That's about it. Drip's got the idea, but to put a positive spin on it:

  • Rap: I think Eminem is a misogynist pig, but I actually like some of his music.
  • Classical: Mozart, Wagner, St.Saens...seriously, anyone who says they "hate Classical" is liar
  • Country: Chet Atkins, Jerry Jeff Walker, Dixie Chicks, Lester Flatt & Earl Scruggs, Johnny Cash, Bob Wills: these cats can *cook*!
  • R & B: James Brown! Aretha! Average White Band! Led Zeppelin! Are you *kidding* me?
  • Elevator and Grocery Store Music: Well now that they're covering Eddie Van Halen instead of Henry Mancini, its definitely better, but remember, "Pink Panther Theme" is in this category, and we've *all* hummed that one. I've got a Herb Alpert greatest hits CD that goes full blast down certain sections of Highway 1 south of Big Sur for some reason...
  • Heavy Metal: Zeppelin boys! Messers Van Halen! Wasp! (hiya Chris!)
  • Pop and New age: How'd these get lumped together? The *Beatles* are pop music, are you sayin' you don't like the *Beatles*? :hihi: (Pop, pop, pop, pop music, pop, pop, pop...) New age is good for inducing sleep, and I can admit to actually liking Ottmar....
  • Techno and Night Club: Kraftwerk! For goodness sakes, POPCORN!!! "Night Club" or as us oldsters call it "World/Beat" if you've got the right DJ is marvelous under the proper altered states of consciousness and sufficiently cute people of the desired orientation. Try it!
  • Jazz: Dizzy, Tal, Bird, Miles, Ella! (gimme scat! whoo!), Preservation Hall, I can't stop!

Seriously, its all in the attitude: Stop with the negative waves, Moriarty!

Even London Bridge has fallen down and moved to Arizona, now I know why,

I pretty much love all music, even awful, commercial Britney Spears-type tripe, in sufficiently small doses.

My favorite music is usually stuff I understand, and can play and sing with little effort, but that isn’t so much like what I already know I can hardly tell the difference. I’m very in to new stylings of old songs (my current project is trying to play hip-hop with a 4-piece bluegrass band)

My least favorite, traditional blues, wasn’t one of the options. No matter how well played, it just bores me to distraction, unless the lyrics are really extraordinary.

My next least favorite is jazz, for similar reasons, and additionally because I associate it with snobbish, pretensions folk who just love jazz. I respect jazz – it’s not easy, and some great musicians love it – but rarely enjoy it.

COOL!!!!!

I love any thing with stringed instruments.

Hate most horn an wind instruments driven stuff.

Absolutly hate music based on sampling (learn to play a frigging instrument and how about trying writing your own material stinkin hosers!!!!!!!!)

Again very cool!!! I love bluegrass love to play it, love to listen to it!! (I play banjo, cello, double bass, lap dulcimer, hammered dulcimer, dobro, guitar, fiddle, mandolin, and piano)

I'm experimenting with trying to convert symphonies to Metal. I've really been driving myself nuts trying to turn "ride of the vaulkeries (or is it flight") into an electric guitar driven version. Ein klein nachmusic converts quite nicely!!! as does the 1812 overture!!!!

It's not often that I bump into music I do NOT like. Not even a little. However, having said that...

I have yet to hear any rap or hip-hop that I would ever listen to twice.

Most disco music begins to bore or annoy me after the first minute.

The same for most country music.

Though I LOVE classical Rock'n'Roll, if the vocals are too screamish, I turn it off. I cannot listen to 90% of Rush for this reason. But I love all of Led Zep! Go figger.

Yesterday, I heard a song for the first time: Treetop Flyer. I have GOT to find that music and download it! GOD WAS IT AWESOME!!!!! Awesome guitar and awesome lyrics and awesome old raspy beatup voice!!!!!

Addendum: It was sung by Stephen Stills!!! The Guitar God!!!
