Turtle Posted March 4, 2006 Report Posted March 4, 2006 ___Ha ha!:) Strange Claims indeed!:hihi: Ha ha! :) Let's test our predictive abilities by making a prediction for the next week that is both not complete nonsense & verifiable when time has run out. I'll go first with a sample; any topic will do. Prediction: Within 1 week Yellowstone will have a 4.5 or higher quake either in or near the caldera. Now we casually keep score & point out the non-scientific statistics with significant deviations. :hihi: :hihi: Quote

Turtle Posted March 4, 2006 Author Report Posted March 4, 2006 i predict i'll achieve Nirvana on monday. That doesn't meet the verification standard I have in mind; the group must agree objectively that a prediction is met. News reports, pictures, data etc. to support a correct prediction.. In balance to that, we don't want trivial predictions like "the sun will rise" & so forth. This is a strange claim, but it's a scientific strange claim if we make it that way.:hihi: Quote

TheBigDog Posted March 4, 2006 Report Posted March 4, 2006 My kids will still be trying to finish Donkey Kong 64 without success. There will be a Sasquatch sighting to add energy to the impending expidition. My Hypography rep will hit 30. My husband rep will still hover near zero. Queso Posted March 4, 2006 Report Posted March 4, 2006 there are earthquakes here every single day.You just have to learn to feel them.I meditate on the second floor of the most popular mall around town, perched on my Balcony I can feel earth shaking from time to time. It's the perfect amplification,Feelin' it thru my spine. Anyway, Turtle-my man, I don't understand.A group prediction? I feel almost incapable, as a groupto manifest such a thing. Quote
Racoon Posted March 4, 2006 Report Posted March 4, 2006 I meditate on the second floor of the most popular mall around town, perched on my Balcony I can feel earth shaking from time to time. I read about a guy who could predict events in a week by sitting on a curb in traffic, and meditating on the Traffic Sounds! Quote

I feel almost incapable, as a groupto manifest such a thing. My bad for a lack of clarity there. I meant only that the group agrees a prediction is valid first, & later whether or not a valid prediction is met. :Crunk: Quote
