A father sea catfish keeps the eggs of his young in his mouth until they are ready to hatch. He will not eat until his young are born, which may take several weeks.

(apologies for the flood of facts, but i found a wicked site that had really cool "strange facts" so thought i'd share them while i was looking at the page.)

Thanks Jules

I saw Superman make a diamond once by squeezing (hard) a lump of coal.

Neat trick:)

Is it true that diamonds are only formed in/by volcanoes?

As far as i know diamonds are formed wherever the pressure is great enough on some coal. Don't think they are limited to where they can be formed.

Humans generally eat more (feel hungrier) when surriounded by orange/redish colors. They will eat less (feel less hungry) when surrounded by greens/blues.

This is why McDonald's, Burger King, and Wendy's all use oranges and reds.

Interesting!

Reptiles only need about 10% of the food a similar-sized mammal needs, simply by being cold-blooded! But then again, they're pretty much useless once the sun sets!

Almost 80% of a human's energy intake is lost as thermal radiation through the head! Would it help obese people to shave their heads?

Wear a woolen cap.

Dont lose that heat in normally tropical areas and you'll DIE.(!)
