Buffy Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 Okay, I'll play. Arabic Scale: C-C#-E-F-G-G#-B-C Acc'ding to Wiki it was used by Dick Dale in his version of Misirlou. You should really investigate microtonal scales, but you'll need to dump the guitar and get a programmable keyboard...that thing is like a dulcimer or having only a G-harmonica.... Why, pray tell, is this thread in *Earth Science*??? I feel the Earth move under my feet, :confused:Buffy Quote
Tormod Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 I don't know...I just play whatever pops into my head. Basically, medieval music is all about modes. The Lydian and Mixolydian scales are perhaps the most used (play a C scale from F and G respectively to get those scales). Quote
