hallenrm Posted March 10, 2006 Report Posted March 10, 2006 Can there be more than one human beings that are similar? By similar I mean that have experienced similar fate simultaneously. Remember they are not seperated twins, In fact they may have no relation between them, except they belong to the biological classification "Homosapiens" Quote
InfiniteNow Posted March 10, 2006 Report Posted March 10, 2006 hallenrm:I am not sure I understand the nature of your question. Are you asking if it is possible for two people to have the same genetic sequences without coming out of one females womb? Or, are you asking if two unrelated people can have the same experience simultaniously... like an orgasm or something? If the first, I think this question was brought up before. Basically, yes it's possible for two people to have nearly the same genetic sequence, but it's amazingly unlikely... like 1 chance in 10^100 or something. Quote

Or, are you asking if two unrelated people can have the same experience simultaniously... like an orgasm or something? It could be either of the case. At times I am indeed startled by the similarities between two unrelated individuals. At such moments, I wonder if there is some truth in astrology based on birth time etc. When I contemplate in the framework of modern science and technology, I wonder, is it really impossible for two people to have very similar genetic predispositions, and may be social circumstances. But, I must add that the two occuring simultaneously would be very improbable. But, then probability has never come in way of occurences. Thanks a lot! I do agree, but do we see differences between two ants, bees or birds of the same genre. But, what I was driving at, is that two very similar human beings, twin or not, may have channels for communication other than we are familiar and comfortable with.:) Quote

Demiurge Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 it is possible .. In fact this showed up in Google because i am researching this very question as we speak along with my " other self " so to speak. we are of the same sex and astro sign (but never involved). although we come from different backgrounds and parents we share alot qualities and experiences not to mention fates and decisions in our life. we even met randomly through mutual friends and ever since then we have been in contact .. Michaelangelica Posted December 3, 2008 Report Posted December 3, 2008 I vaguely remember some Psych. research that looked at personality traits and star signsThere was some correlation as I remember but the question is again- chicken or egg? No one can pick my star sign and my mother was an astrology nut, buying a weekly magazine on it. So if she trained me to be my star sign she failed. I am amazed how alike Taureans are. eg They don't believe in astrology. Quote
