inside the sun Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 Whats sad is that it is the south, and hicks that vote into office people like George Bush that speak for our country and piss off other countries, and go to war in Iraq. The sad thing is, that its cities, full of intelligent people who highly disgree with what our president does, and what we are doing, that are the target for attacks. I'm not saying their aren't people in these cities that are just as guilty as those in the south, and vice versa...i dunno interesting comment, ponder it with me:shrug: Quote
motherengine Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 my experiences with people in the country and in the city have led me to believe that both are equally susceptible to stupidity. the city is interesting but filthy creating bleak wanderers of secular logic. the country is harsh and beautiful creating violent spiritualists of natural wisdom. the president is a socially necessary puppet for advisors who have motives wholly indifferent to the needs of common folk, urban or rural. just an opinion, could change with the weather. Boerseun Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 To the best of my knowledge, Dubya came in with less votes than Gore - and only because of the Electoral College, an outdated system designed to give parity to states with different-sized populations. So, no, I can't see anybody to blame for it who's still alive. Quote
InfiniteNow Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 There are a lot of pretty blatant and unfounded generalizations being put forth above... One's latitude has very little to do with one's intellect and voting preference... Quote

If you made such a statement based upon Race nobody would be sitting so quietly. Amazing how we accept one form of prejudice and reject another when they are the same thing in different clothes. Drip Curl Magic Posted March 15, 2006 Report Posted March 15, 2006 well, people who live in the country and people who live in the city are probably more likely to not see eye to eye as apposed to 2 people coming from the same area. I'm pretty sure that geographical differences influence the way people view the world. I could use some time out in the country. The fresh air (occasional cow dung stench). I recently took a dirt biking trip out in the mountains. In order to get to this place, you have to drive through thousands of acres of farmland. And even a ghost town. I kind of want to move into the ghost town. It's such a weird place. I wanna start a tribe and just hang out in this one specific ghost town all day. That'd be rad. I totally went off topic. haha. what was my point? ahh, hell, I can't remember. Quote
InfiniteNow Posted March 15, 2006 Report Posted March 15, 2006 DCM:You're almost right with the above, but not entirely. It's not because of the region, but mostly because of the isolation and exposure to a smaller population of people... and worse, a smaller, more narrow-minded, less open set of thoughts and ideas. inside the sun Posted March 15, 2006 Author Report Posted March 15, 2006 yeah, statement was arrogant and blind on my part. i'm just fed up with sh!t and like al those who are, want something to blame, when really there is nothing to blaming, or blaming gets you nowhere etc...anyways im 18 now, so i can vote and make a difference :eek2: Quote
