pamela Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 I am curious about your list on female serial killers, lemit. How would you profile them? Quote
lemit Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 These things are so racist and sexist that I really hate them. Also, when I got the DC killer right (except I didn't allow for his young partner) it so scared me that I hadn't told anybody until now. I was afraid of whatever it was inside me that could understand something so awful. I decided I had learned too much about crime and moved on to other things. But then this thread gave me shivers and I decided I needed to comment. Now, having said these things are racist and sexist, female serial killers tend more toward poison than guns or "hands-on" crimes. They are also more likely to do "Munchausen by proxy" type crimes. Eileen Wuornos was an exception. Also, female serial killers are fairly rare. That's why the base is male. If the crimes involve poison or positions of trust (or, as in the Wuornos case, "Johns"), then the focus changes. --lemit p.s. This is beginning to make me feel really uncomfortable. To preclude further questions, Jack the Ripper was Tumblety. The Black Dahlia was an experienced serial killer passing through town. Ken Rex McElroy was suicide by towsfolk. And I am not the kind of person who would know these things. Quote
alexander Posted May 1, 2009 Report Posted May 1, 2009 in continuing having fun coming up with dumb things you should not do before, while or after the killing, here are a few more thoughts: It's a bad idea to have an alibi that is based on a testimony of a person who can hardly hear or see and was sleeping while the murder was taking place. If you are an athlete that uses a firearm for your sport, it is generally a bad idea to use your firearm to kill someone. It's a bad idea to place an anonymous 911 call from the crime scene, especially if you own a smart phone of some kind. If you are a high tech killer, it's generally a bad idea to leave fingerprints on your equipment, it is even a worse idea to post the design of your equipment on your website, and its even a more worse idea to transmit the data directly to your systems, even through a proxy. It's not a bad idea to use a one of a kind weapon, it is a bad idea to use it if it will link to a very small group of people from which you can be tracked by simple process of elimination. It is a bad idea to kill someone who you openly oppose but who is secretly your blood relative. It's a bad idea to sneak in and out of the house through a broken window, especially if you break it, and get cut in the process. If you know you are guilty, but the authorities are just asking you some questions, it's a bad idea to be a pain in the ***, to not be clear, to be defensive, or show nervousness, or tell a lie the they can easily check... Racoon Posted May 3, 2009 Author Report Posted May 3, 2009 And this just in! :hyper::) Two men eat brother?s body to conceal murder / MosNews.com edited from the link: Two men eat brother’s body to conceal murder29 Apr, 01:52 PM Two men, aged 23 and 28 have killed and eaten their elder brother in the South Siberian city of Perm, the Life.ru web-site reported Wednesday. According to the report, the crime was uncovered by pure chance – one of the criminals went to the police and asked for a written confirmation of the disappearance of his relative... To conceal their crime the brothers decided to eat the body. “Yes, we had to eat him. I did not want to go to prison again,” Life.ru quoted the middle brother as saying... Cannibalism is a surprisingly popular way to dispose of a body in Russia. In March 2009 a woman was detained for similar offence in the Siberian city of Irkutsk and in February last year two St. Petersburg men, who claimed to be part of the Goth community, killed and ate a teenage girl... lemit Posted May 3, 2009 Report Posted May 3, 2009 Careful, Racoon. I've noticed your repeated interest in the "What Are You Growing In Your Garden?" thread. Where I grew up, we killed your kind for a lot less. I myself have killed more than one of your brethren with a sawed-off .22 rifle. --lemit Quote
Donk Posted May 4, 2009 Report Posted May 4, 2009 Top of the list: stay away from the investigators for at least the first couple of days of the case. EVERY whodunnit I've seen on TV in the last few years has followed the same pattern. The killer turns out to be someone interviewed in the first 5-10 minutes of the show. So there B) Seriously, though. Like most long-time marrieds, I've thought a lot about the perfect murder. I've come up with a half-dozen or so techniques that would probably work... Quote
