Do we give to get?.....

I am not gonna sit in judgement of what they are doing with the money; its none of my business. We give, we care, we chat, we play, we sing, because we are a part of humanity

Hundreds of people have turned out in Melbourne's CBD to cheer on the competitors taking part in this year's Homeless World Cup of soccer.

The sixth edition of the tournament has kicked off with a colourful street parade and a match between Australia and Austria, which the visitors won 3-0.

Eighteen nations were represented at the first Homeless World Cup in Austria in 2003, but this year 56 countries and over 500 players will compete for the trophy, which is currently held by Scotland.

Ironically, a person in a hurry is less likely to help people, even if he is going to speak on the parable of the Good Samaritan. (Some literally stepped over the victim on their way to the next building!)

This was a great program on homelessness.

These people are relly helping as they are trying to understand the dynamics of what is happening.

Great, practical, social science reseach and insights with many implications for the social policy of Government.

At this tournament it is win or go hom... err... win or stop playing. I am not sure if they are giving the players round trip tickets or just letting them start over in Milan when they get eliminated.
