sr20 Posted March 21, 2006 Report Posted March 21, 2006 Hi. does anyone know what the problems produced by the limited range of the electromagnetic spectrum avaliable for communication purposes? Also, What are the types of communication data that are stored in transmitted in digital form? It would also be helpful if you could give me some links related to those two questions. Thanks in advance. Quote
Jay-qu Posted March 21, 2006 Report Posted March 21, 2006 Hi. does anyone know what the problems produced by the limited range of the electromagnetic spectrum avaliable for communication purposes? well there is only a limited amount of bandwidth we can use - eventually all the frequencies will be taken up.. we use radio -> infrared for communication and other electrical purposes eg mobiles, wireless internet, bluetooth etc. All these devices need seperate frequencies(or wavelengths) so that we dont get our data all mixed up. We can only go to a certain point because then you get into infrared and then the visible part of the spectrum - these frequencies are all to abundant naturally (from the sun mainly) so they are useless in most applications. After visible is UV and then all the other dangerous and harmfull radiation. So you can see its only a matter of time before we run out of frequencies.. Quote
