Saitia Posted March 30, 2006 Report Posted March 30, 2006 My net name is Saitia (Say-sha) I hatched a convoluted process in creating it to fight SPAM; it worked pretty well for a few years. With the ascendancy of Google I found out it is a Hawaiian male surname; so did a lot of SPAMMERS. But I keep it because many people assume I'm female; experiencing male condescension of my opinions continues to be useful. I'm a life-long artist, currently doing more painting than anything else. I paint "cosmic landscapes" which reflect my ongoing addiction to cosmology. My work is sold exclusively through a gallery in Estes Park, CO. I've been a political cartoonist, satirist, police artist, husband, father of three amazing young men, and am married to a brilliant, beautiful, woman who keeps me humble, sane, and in awe. All men should be so lucky. But if she finds out I've joined another forum. . . I'll be needing more than luck. In my profile I stated I know who I am, (I go through my wallet occasionally to review the proof) where I am, (yep, right here) and where I'm going (especially valuable when you're really lost). I'm also a kidder. . . When I'm not speaking as if I know everything for certain. (Sure I do. Including the rules of the forum. ;) ) Seriously-- in a casual, relative sort of way: I consider myself among the most fortunate of human beings-- in that I have discovered through personal religious experience the divine purpose of life, the divine, relative values of truth, beauty, and goodness; and the precious spiritual gift of auto-revelation. Life here would really suck, otherwise. So; why a science forum. Once you comprehend the truth all reality takes origin in the same Source, science really gets much more interesting; especially in attempting to harmonize it with the many backward, error-filled doctrines of organized religion. I look forward to meeting and getting to know some of you who read this, at least as much as you can truly know anyone through the written word. --Saitia CraigD 1 Quote

Pour yourself something cold and enjoy the forums. And don't be shy about posting. We have no shortage of people who would seem to know everything about everything, but we are always looking for more! ;) Bill Quote

I paint on the computer too, not just with a brush. It's a lot more challenging I'm sure you know. I don't use my real name in forums (it's an NSA thing I have)but if you google Blue Horse gallery in Estes and search paintings under the catagory of mixed media you should be able to find my stuff; my initials are TK. Look forward to getting together around here. . . Regards,--Saitia Quote

Tormod Posted March 31, 2006 Report Posted March 31, 2006 police artist Warm welcomes. What is a police artist? I know only of three, and one of them had a real Sting about him. Quote
Saitia Posted March 31, 2006 Author Report Posted March 31, 2006 Warm welcomes. What is a police artist? I know only of three, and one of them had a real Sting about him. Hello Tormod, A police artist draws suspects from victim/witness descriptions. Very often it's the best way to visualize the suspect in a crime. But you lost me-- what's a "real Sting: refer to? Thanks for the welcome! --Saitia Quote
Tormod Posted March 31, 2006 Report Posted March 31, 2006 But you lost me-- what's a "real Sting: refer to? The singer in the exceptional seventies/eighties pop group The Police was Gordon Matthew Sumners...also known as Sting. If you (heaven forbid) have never heard of The Police or Sting, you can do worse than getting their "Greatest Hits" or Sting's "Dream of the Blue Turtles". :) Quote
