IrishEyes Posted April 2, 2006 Report Posted April 2, 2006 Hi,... and work at Sandia National labs...Is this in New Mexico? I've been to the Sandia mountains there. Really beautiful place. Welcome to the forums! Quote
dmmcmah Posted April 2, 2006 Author Report Posted April 2, 2006 Yep, Sandia labs is in Albuquerque. The more famous Los Alamos is about 90 miles to the north. Quote
IrishEyes Posted April 2, 2006 Report Posted April 2, 2006 ... in Albuquerque. ...I was actually there, many years ago, when the 'longest mural in the state' was unvelied in the little gift shop at the top of the mountain. I will remember that day forever, for three simple reasons, all having to do with my senses...I had no idea at that time that a place could still have snow on the ground in June (I was very young, and had spent most of my life up to that point in either Vegas, Riverside CA, or Panama Canal). I had never tasted deep fried mushrooms before. Wonderful things, those. I never had the pleasure of feeling champagne bubbles on my tongue before that day. Thanks to my Gramps, who snuck me a glass, it was my first experience with the bubbly stuff. Now, of course, I'm a bit more experienced with it, but I will always remember that first taste. Sorry, I have nothing more to add. I obviously have no advanced degree in either math or physics, but I love this site, and truly hope you will as well. Enjoy!! Quote
