How often & in what circumstances do you go barefoot? Only barefoot in the bath? Only situationally barefoot, say at the beach or during the warm seasons?

The Poll is strickly an amount of time by percentage, so feel free to post your barefoot qualifications to the thread.

Afraid of parasites burrowing into your tootsies? Anyone firewalked? Six toes?>

I'm a major fan of being barefoot, and bare everything for that matter.

And I only wear what I need to,

So when it calls for wearing shoes I will,

but I love earth between my earth toes.

S'funny you mention that Turtle-

The Bubbling Well cavity is on the base-middle portion of the foot, and "communicates" with the Earth.

Seeing that we all need to wear shoes around when we go outside, modern humans have "lost" much of their ability to communicate with Mother Earth.

Unlike Animals who have the sense of the Mother - who know when to run away from Earthquakes and Volcanoes!

I try when I can. The feeling of sun on my feet feels great!

But mostly I wear socks and shoes:(

Yeah, I have that "in the house" question: shoes are not allowed in my house at all: you leave 'em at the door thank you very much.

Also, I'm assuming you're talking about sole-covering: I like open-toed heels, but that's hardly barefootin' no matter how much skin is showing...

Obviously where you live makes a huge difference. When I was in high school in LA, none of us ever wore shoes unless a teacher was walking by....

I chose the 70% barefoot option. During cold weather I wear socks in the house, but I don't like the feel much. Indoors or out, I go barefoot as much as possible. I look forward to Spring & warmer weather so I re-toughen my feet & put my bubbling wells to the Earth. In just a few weeks my feet will laugh at all but a direct hit by a thorn or glancing laceration by some shard or other.

I like all the extra taction of textures.:singer:

mmm I like it too,

it's nice to be able to hike at the end of the summer barefoot,

can't do that in the beginning, ow.

There was a time when I was known in my circle as the barefoot guy. Never wore shoes. Hated the ****ers. I'd go to church barefoot when I was forced to go to church. I got thrown off a city bus once when the driver realized I was barefoot. Same for restaurants once or twice.

After a few years I built up massive callouses on the inside of both of my large toes. Gargantuan things. My friends put bets on how long I could hold an open flame to 'em without being bothered.

Long story short, when I started wondering why I was still single I started wearing shoes.

now I'm a shoe wearer.

To me lot of textures are very foot friendly, and often I cannot resist kicking the suckers off to let sand/water/soil/mud run through. I like hot, uneven pavement under my feet best nowadays, probably just because it reminds me of my childhood, standing on my blacktop driveway under the florida sun. I once sprinted down a highway barefoot against a track runner who was in his "running shoes". Romped on the kid. It was a good feeling, and the look on his face when he saw that I had zero technology helping my spring was priceless.

Long pointless anecdotes aside, I'm now fond of shoes with no soul, so the ground and my feet can still communicate, but through a barrier that'll help when I step on things unfriendly to skin. I've got a 3 year old pair of black etnies that I tore the souls out of that I won't get rid of until there's nothing to them. Like that last pair :singer:

cool thread.

ps-- orby, you're crazy, I'd be afraid of the california mountains barefoot. That's some rough terrain.

Rough? Nah,

It's like a massage,

yeah, well you jump from mile high rock to mile high rock between chasms of certain death!

So I imagine massages are a whole different ballgame to you than me, you nutter. (I mean that in the kindest of ways)

I hate wearing any kind of shoe or sandal. At work, us girls get away with slippers alot and even then, there usually off too.

While on the subject of barefeet, anyone else find grass or sand, etc., erotic to walk in with barefeet? I love it!! But....I do hate anyone touching my feet..weird....
