InfiniteNow Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 What question do you want answered? Are you asking if anyone agrees with your comparison that modern day scientific research is analogous to the Spanish Inquisition? I've been around research much of my life and your claims seem more emotional than factual. I don't mean to attack, just curious what is your reason for asking. I could snipe your post pretty much point by point as it sits right now. Quote
InfiniteNow Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 Okay, I see now. It's a rant. No worries. If you want to discuss any specific posts which have you upset, any particular research you feel is wrong, any specific anything, let us know. Right now, you are speaking in broad abstractions and painting with a very wide brush. I thought maybe you were thinking of one specific article or type of research... If so, let's discuss. :lightning Quote
TheBigDog Posted April 14, 2006 Report Posted April 14, 2006 Given the couce between humans and animals I will always side with humans. If some animals suffer to reduce the suffering of humans then the ends justify the means. I love my dog, but if I had to torture him to prolong the life of one of my sons I would do it. That being said, as we advance science we get to milestones that allow us to change and improve out techniques. Animal experimention will someday be surpassed by more "ethical" methods. Bbut without that experimentation you cannot advance past it. If you don't like it, do something about it like boycott products that benfit from animal research. And when you find that the only cure to your disease, or your loved one's disease is the result of animal research, will you stay with your moral convictions? Bill Quote
