Queso Posted April 16, 2006 Report Posted April 16, 2006 ok So I invented a word,How do I get it published in a dictionary? Quote
Queso Posted April 16, 2006 Author Report Posted April 16, 2006 From dictionary.com: "Q. How does a word get into the dictionary? How can I get my word into the dictionary? A. Usage. A word gets into the dictionary by being used. That's the only way. Lexicographers — the people who make dictionaries — don't make words; they find them and record them. They are like the entomologist who goes into the rain forest looking for new species of beetles. Similarly, you can't invent a word and petition to have it admitted into the dictionary. You can invent a word and use it, of course, and if your word catches on it might end up in the dictionary some day. However, this is extremely unlikely." Ok So the word I came up with is: Physicless When we dream, we appear to be unbound by the laws of physics. Thus, We are physicless. "Sailing physicless through bent planes and corneas" Published. arkain101 Posted April 16, 2006 Report Posted April 16, 2006 hah, I once said this same thing.Dreaming Existence is an alternate physics, or experience of imagination and possible other influences that creates a reality as true as one awake that operates without the care of physics law. The problem is, it isny a reality, but seems to be an imagination creation which has no real awareness will power... ALthought many dreams differ so I agree it cant be generalized.. just thought id put in my 2 cents. Quote
Queso Posted April 16, 2006 Author Report Posted April 16, 2006 Psh!No real awareness will power? Looks like someones not experienced Lucidly. Quote
arkain101 Posted April 16, 2006 Report Posted April 16, 2006 I think that was a bad choice of words. I was trying to describe that it does not always appear that we are aware that we are dreaming and our brain is not always necesaraly active in judgement, dreaming, its like flipping on a movie, compared to developing the movie. Is what I meant. However sometimes we can seem to have will in our dreams, the thing though is, we dont really intend for the events to happen that happen in our sleep. Quote
arkain101 Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 Okay, put it this way. You can imagine anything your capable of imagining, of anything you want. But can you say, when I fall asleep tonight I will dream of this ______. Then fall asleep and have a dream about what you wanted to and have happen in the dream what you wanted. Then wake up and confirm it? Quote
Queso Posted April 18, 2006 Author Report Posted April 18, 2006 No,If you want to know how I feel about dreams Read all of the Lucid Dream threads. Quote
