hallenrm Posted April 20, 2006 Report Posted April 20, 2006 The future is a mysterious structure! We are all outside it speculating what it holds in its different sections!!:hihi: Hypography is a great forum where people often speculate that way. I have myself started threads which are on such a track. Now, can you speculate what it will be like, if any of such speculations were proved to be right!!!! So, Let's go:) Quote
ughaibu Posted April 20, 2006 Report Posted April 20, 2006 What if it's not a wolf under my bed? "Mummy, Mummy, there's a wolf under my bed." "Dont worry darling, there's nothing there, only a seething quantum mess of infinite possibilities." Quote
hallenrm Posted April 21, 2006 Author Report Posted April 21, 2006 Well! I gather that I have not been really successful in communicating my idea behind this thread. So let me begin with an example? What if it is proved that organisms do have extra genetic sources of info? It would be a riot! Imagine Al Qaida bosses, breeding terrorists en masse:) Imagine Dictators trying to produce docile citizens that are very loyal!! The possibilities are endless;) Now, can any body guess what it will be like if thoughts couid be transmitted without the help of any device? Quote
Racoon Posted May 3, 2006 Report Posted May 3, 2006 What if it...,Love really did make the world go around? What if it..?God did exist, with Science behind it? What if it... people of all religions realized that they had more in common, then they had in difference.?? What if it...Science could prove exactly why everything is as it is?? :) :D >>>> :shade: :) :note: :note2: Quote
hallenrm Posted May 3, 2006 Author Report Posted May 3, 2006 What if it is proved that science need not be monolithic, several different interpretations are equally acceptable for the same phenomenon?:) :) Quote
Boerseun Posted May 3, 2006 Report Posted May 3, 2006 What if the ultimate answer to Life, the Universe and Everything actually is 42? Quote
ronthepon Posted May 3, 2006 Report Posted May 3, 2006 What if the world would be under the rule of a dictatorship before 2010? What if the world does witness a nuclear holocaust? (did I spell that right?) What if all the life on earth would suddenly be wiped out by some factor that was looming above us for many millenia? What if all wireless communications would suddenly be brought to an earthly standstill because of the largest solar to hit the earth ever? Quote
UncleAl Posted May 3, 2006 Report Posted May 3, 2006 Mankind is incapable of imagining its future. It is the only thing that saves us. Science fiction (sf and sci-fi) exposes defective futures, rendering them impossible. Management exists to create imagined futures, destroying humanity. The USSR was history's largest exercise in central management. How did that turn out? Homeland Severity is a $100+ billion/year exercise of the Police State. Do you feel safer? Quote
hallenrm Posted May 4, 2006 Author Report Posted May 4, 2006 Science fiction (sf and sci-fi) exposes defective futures, rendering them impossible. But still, there are instances in the history when scifi predicted future development rather accurately.B) Quote
hallenrm Posted May 4, 2006 Author Report Posted May 4, 2006 What if this life is an illusion?? We must learn to disillusionate our minds!!B) B) Quote
Racoon Posted May 4, 2006 Report Posted May 4, 2006 What if Racoon really is one...? what if racoon is really Artificial Intelligence? What if racoon has had too much free time on his hands? B) what if I could just rip-up my bills, and forget paying them, and go out and get blasted? B) what if racoon starts referring to himself in the third person? B) Quote
