Tormod Posted April 20, 2006 Report Posted April 20, 2006 I'm allergic to animals so no pets...I voted "no" and "fish" because we have a small aquarium but it's about to be thrown out since I can't be bothered to take care of it as much as is necessary. Quote
C1ay Posted April 20, 2006 Report Posted April 20, 2006 We currently have 5 tarantulas, a ball python and a bearded dragon..... Quote
Vagabond -SC2- Posted April 20, 2006 Report Posted April 20, 2006 One very good dog78 lbs German Shep/Rottie mix... Quote
TheBigDog Posted April 20, 2006 Report Posted April 20, 2006 Charlie the Dog. A black lab/border collie mix. 85 lbs. We got him to keep critters out of the yard when we lived at the edge of open space in Colorado. And he did a damn good job of it. Now aside from being a member of the pack, he is helping the kids to learn about the duty of caring for others. Bill Quote
pgrmdave Posted April 20, 2006 Report Posted April 20, 2006 I've got a golden retriever who is mostly blind and mostly deaf. Quote
Chacmool Posted April 20, 2006 Report Posted April 20, 2006 Why do I have a pet? Well, actually I had no say in the matter. When I moved into my current place almost two years ago, the local stray cat decided to move in along with me. :hihi: Someone has commented that he is actually not my cat, but in fact I'm his human. He completely runs the show around here, and even gets to pick on which side of the bed he wants to sleep. But I gladly put up with all of it because he is extremely loving and he really makes me happy. :) Quote

I had a Gold fish tank and a Tropical tank (about 50 gallons worth). And what a pain in the butt to keep it clean! :D When I can afford an Nice self-cleaning setup, I will enjoy a tropical aquarium again. (its good Feng :D ) And another Tarantula is in my future as well, once I can commit. They are really cool "pets". They fascinate visitors too. :phones: For now its scooping litterboxes and shoveling dog doo! :) Quote
Racoon Posted April 21, 2006 Author Report Posted April 21, 2006 I forgot to add pig. Seems pot-bellied pigs are pretty damn smart and are sometimes kept as pets. They get big, but would be pretty cool...:friday: if you had the time and/or space I heard pigs are So smart that if they had thumbs, they could be taught to do simple manual labor?? :ebasball:  Quote
Edella Posted April 21, 2006 Report Posted April 21, 2006 Thats a LOT of DOG! ;) :dog: :) I doubt anyone would want to break into your place. Aphotick Posted April 21, 2006 Report Posted April 21, 2006 I have two pets. Linky is our white poddle/Maltese. We have it because my mother decided she had to have one. But Linky and my Father are the ones who have bonded in the end. :cup: Cutie is my obese white/light brown cat. A couple years ago our former cat ran away that my Father was very close to. But because I wasn't, I found this as an opportunity to get a new pet. So I went to the Fremont Animal Shelter and found Cutie as a kitten climbing up the cage to see me. And we've loved each other ever since. Quote
InfiniteNow Posted April 21, 2006 Report Posted April 21, 2006 Hi Aphotick, Welcome to Hypography, and thanks for sharing about your pets! :star: I have to admit, I've never thought about naming a pet "cutie," as I tend to use this as a description for an attractive member of the opposite sex, but it's really quite a good idea, since I'm sure your kittie is adorable. :hihi: Have fun in the forums. I look forward to interacting with you more. Cheers. :cup: Quote
