InfiniteNow Posted May 1, 2006 Report Posted May 1, 2006 Hi Bonnie, Welcome to Hypography! You've probably already done this, but here is a link to a quick Google search: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=dog+human+relationship Maybe you'll share your thoughts on the topic with the rest of us. Good luck, and enjoy! Cheers. Quote
bonnieallmine Posted May 1, 2006 Author Report Posted May 1, 2006 thank you, I did buy one of the books listed. I have quite a few books now, but am always looking for more. Most of the older books are not too accurate on dog evolution, but some of the information is still useful. Bonnie Quote
InfiniteNow Posted May 1, 2006 Report Posted May 1, 2006 There are interesting similarities. Wolves are pack animals, and in many respects, so are humans. The overlap is where I'd focus. Most likely (personal guess, nothing more), wolves began approaching humans due to the smell of their meats cooking on the fire. Humans having extra probably threw some scraps to the wolves they began recognizing. The relationship grew from there, and humans enjoyed having them as companions. Then, we started favoring certain types, and selectively breeding, and *poof* now we have great danes and daschunds and pit bulls and labradoodles. :hyper: Quote
