Tormod Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 You need to get off those mind-enhancing drugs, Tim. They make your mind too full of ideas so you can't think straight. (how's that for a contradiction?) Quote
Freethinker Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 If you watch superman movies, he will stand, chest sticking out, while someone empties a pistol at him. Then why does he duck when the guy throws the gun at him? Post Offices in the US have a sign, "No Dogs allowed, except seeing eye dogs". Who is that sign for? The seeing eye dog? They're called conundrums. Gallagher is big on these I believe. Quote

The seeing eye dog? There's a hospital up in the mountains in Norway that has a big sign that says (in extremely large letters) "BLIND HOSPITAL". Now why the big letters? Who cares if the hospital is blind? Quote

Freethinker Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 How about "RE-elect Bush/ Chaney '04" Quote
Freethinker Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 Or "Compassionate Conservative" Quote
Tim_Lou Posted September 7, 2004 Author Report Posted September 7, 2004 someone said it in whatever chat room: some little candy bars are called fun size, but wouldnt it be fun if you eat a bigger one? Quote
IrishEyes Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 How about "RE-elect Bush/ Chaney '04" is funny... Or "Compassionate Conservative"is NOT... Gallagher is big on these I believe. Steven Wright is hilarious with these. Of course, I guess I could just leave it at 'Steven Wright is hilarious', huh? Quote
Freethinker Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 Originally posted by: IrishEyesis funny... Or "Compassionate Conservative" is NOT...Nor have the results been! Steven Wright is hilarious with these. Of course, I guess I could just leave it at 'Steven Wright is hilarious', huh?I would put him more on a one liner than conundrum. His stuff is perhaps less about contradictions than unusual observations about real things or literal meanings. Yes he is very funny and insightful. George Carlin does similar stuff. But other than smashing things, that is what Gallagher's show is all about. Quote

Ok, I guess I've never gotten past the watermelon before I change the channel. Gallagher is on par with TomatoHead in my mind. If you think he's ok, maybe I should give him a look. Carlin is a gem, and has been a fave for quite a while. Of course, nobody can touch Dennis... of course, that's only MY opinion... Quote

Uncle Martin Posted September 8, 2004 Report Posted September 8, 2004 Tim, Regarding your new signature,... I choose not to decide if you are lying or not. Have I still made a choice? Quote
