Queso Posted May 5, 2006 Report Posted May 5, 2006 Stevie ray had the blues, that man was white.Tho, blues was derived from the ghettos like jazz.True- And as for my meditative jibber jacky or whatever Turtle called it,it's true.Everything we say amounts to nothing even if we think otherwise. All the music we makewill be forgotten long beforeour star's gone.and that's, universally, not even that long. Absurd, absurd, absurd.I love, I hate.I love the things I hate, and Hate the things I love, sometimes.Words man... WORDS. Quote
Queso Posted May 5, 2006 Report Posted May 5, 2006 O and one other thing,God didn't give you any talent. You sort of just aquired it here and there throughout your life. thoughts are just as important as physical actions.O wait-They ARE physical actions. Reactions. Actions. Reactions. Actions. Reactions. Actions. Reactions. Actions. Reactions. Actions. Reactions. Actions. Reactions. Actions. Reactions. Actions. Reactions. Actions. Reactions. Actions. Reactions. Actions. Reactions. Quote
Buffy Posted May 5, 2006 Report Posted May 5, 2006 One key distinction however is Race!Blues = BlacksCountry = WhitesTell that to Cowboy Troy, the King of Hick Hop... When yer down on yer luck and you ain't got a buck, :hihi:Buffy Quote
Queso Posted May 5, 2006 Report Posted May 5, 2006 I can't argue with that.alcohol, marijuana, benny's, and blues. O Gosh,I always bring the drugs in because well,Especially music, they are a HUGE impact and influence on the music itself.Blues wouldn't be blues without the loose juice. It'da been Turquoise. Quote
C1ay Posted May 5, 2006 Report Posted May 5, 2006 And yes there are similarities between Blues and Country. One key distinction however is Race!Blues = BlacksCountry = WhitesThats not racist, thats accurate generalizationsHuh? Stevie Ray black? Eric Clapton? The Allman Brothers? Boonie Raitt? John Popper?.... Your generalization is far from accurate.... Quote
C1ay Posted May 5, 2006 Report Posted May 5, 2006 No its not.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blues Those guys music is influenced by blues. a neo-white version of blues.Show me where their ancestors were slaves and poor Ghetto dwellers... Those examples are quality producers of music however.Just because the blues was born in the black community does not mean it is still just black people's music. Buffy Posted May 5, 2006 Report Posted May 5, 2006 Is there anything you don't know? :) My Mandarin is a little weak, and I don't do heart transplants. As a friend of mine once said: Crass generalizations may be justified by admitting at least ten exceptions. So admit at least ten, and then admit that its still a crass generalization and you'll be forgiven. Mike Bloomfield, John Mayall, Canned Heat, AWB, Blues Traveler, Lee Oskar, Elvin Bishop, Allman Bros, Johnny Winter, Creedence! Zeppelin! They're all black dudes, right? :D Well, I'm so tired of crying, but i'm out on the road again,Buffy Quote
