Racoon Posted May 6, 2006 Report Posted May 6, 2006 Some peoples avatars have movement;Like Alexanders and Damocles. So when I tried to switch to a motion Avatar I couldn't? Is there a special program or permission you need to do that?or are they not preferred? :star: Quote
Racoon Posted May 6, 2006 Author Report Posted May 6, 2006 .gif files. use those. how? I don't know a .gif file from a .spliff file. I download avatars into my pictures files. use browse in switch avatar option.select avatar. open. save.presto! changed avatar.with selecting the motion avatar from the same file as the others it won't let me save it as new avatar.but I'm a stupid PC Microsoft guy,... if even that Computer Application and Music Theory are two courses I haven't taken.I never used a computer growing up.I only used a computer for typing up papers for school until this last year. I'm so ignorant :D When people start talking program codes, hacking, advance applications; I am like :) :hihi: :hihi: and not so smart. Quote
Tormod Posted May 6, 2006 Report Posted May 6, 2006 My guess is your animated avatar is larger than the max allowed filesize. We need to keep that size small since everyone's avatar is shown a lot of times. I am sure someone can offer to help (I'm busy with server work atm!). Quote
Jay-qu Posted May 6, 2006 Report Posted May 6, 2006 .gif files can be like a mini-animation, you need to keep the length short so that the file size is small enough for an avatar. Unlike this one, which is a is a summary of star wars a new hope :) Quote
Racoon Posted May 6, 2006 Author Report Posted May 6, 2006 ok,its a simple .gif file ; a rotating yin/yang thing that looks cool.and its under 80 x 80 size. It tells me I "can not upload an animated image" when I try to save it as my new avatar. :hihi: :) :hihi: Thanks for the help. :D Quote
