I was recently deemed a walking ball of positive energy.

Mostly for my "intangible noodle" dance.

I try to be as happy as possible... and even if I'm not in the best of spirits, I atleast try to make the people around me as happy/comfortable as possible.

Good vibes for as long as they can be had~

Happiness is akin to orgasm - it's nature's way of rewarding you for doing something right.

So, when you make the right decision in the short-term, endorphins and stuff gets injected into the blood stream to give you that content 'happy' feeling. If a million bucks will make you happy, you will be when you get it - but only for a short while. Then you'd want more or something else completely. I don't think it's possible to be happy all the time. That'll be like having a permanent orgasm. We don't want to be happy for the sake of being happy, we want to be happy (and plan our lives accordingly) because we're hooked on chemicals.

Life seems like fun, but deep down, at the heart of the matter, it's all very mechanical and chemical.

weirdest thing involving happiness happened to me tonight-

I was having

to say the least,

a horrible night.

Nothing seemed right.

I was totally off axis.

Lots of stuff on my mind.

And i decided to go for a walk in the creek in my backyard.

I found a branch. this branch was about 11 feet tall.

And I picked it up off of the ground. And took it home with me.

It made me so incredibly happy.

This branch.

how strange.

I'm planning on splitting it in half and carving both a walking cane and a wooden sword.

I don't know why it makes me so happy. I suppose it's just nice to have tasks to help distract you from all of your negative thoughts.

define fun, is it not also just more chemical reactions? and since our life is but a bunch of complex reactions then it can be fun..

Odd that you have an option for 'always happy' but not one for 'whats happiness???' :hyper:

What stuff? Is it possible to become happy by simply getting a load of these chamicals and injecting them? Id give that a go, happiness sounds kinda fun.

Perfectly possible. Happiness is easily induced chemically in patients. Most illegal drugs also press the brain's happy-buttons, and explains why most of them are so addictive.

You know that I'm beggining to develop a dislike to chemical biology mixed with psychology...

You mean like extasy? Doesnt really do anything for me, cpet make me ultra-paranoid. Can you get hold of endorphins in thier 'natural' form?

Deep down it is mechanical and chemical.... Well if you stand by this why not end your life, it will just be a mechanical and chemical reaction? Deep down there is purpose or there is nothing.

In actual fact, there's no reason not to. Except, of course, millions of years of evolution having engraved a profound fear of pain into my tiny little brain!

And, of course, having been bestowed by evolution with an enquiring mind, I need to live as long as possible in order to have as much as possible time to understand as much as I can from as many subjects I can fit in! For no other reason than pure chemistry! The more I understand of things, the happier I am! And the happier I am, the more endorphins kick in! An' I'm hooked on the ****! But frankly, there's no purpose to it. And it suits me just fine. I kinda like it like that. Frees me from all kinds of paranoia and neuroses.

MDMA is a weird amphetamine that I personally choose not to touch (after a couple experiments with it)

It seems to just heighten ones sense of touch,

Wide-eyed and happy to be alive.

Amphetamines are severely bad for your brain though,

Corrosive.

If you want some natural endorphins just Masturbate.

Go jump out of a plane. The decision whether or not to use a parachute will dictate the intensity of your endorphin flow. :eek_big:

Which, by the way, is already quite large even using the parachute. :thumbs_up

I usually put a don't know/other option. Good point Panj. ;)

I believe Neuro-Chemistry is a way to go for people with emotion issues. (neuroendocrinolgy, of which I've studied a little some )

If "happy drug" could be put into a needle, I would prescribe it to you Panjandrum. :) You could do so much with your intelligence. ;)

But I know people can ellicit these "happy" chemical responses naturally...

They are related to endorphins I presume.

Exercise really helps to feel happy. Its the best medicine for everything.

I am Happy overall. I think it has to do with living a good life. Being helpful to people and working hard.

I think you can choose to be happy or not. Its better to focus on the things that are going well in your life.

and "Happy Hour" makes me happy too.

Happy, by dictionary definition:

Happy (adj) - glad; joyous; satisfied, pleased. 2. giving pleasure; agreeable. 3. lucky, fortunate. 4. very fitting, apt, felicitous.

Remember in "Brave New World" by Aldeous Huxley?

everyone was given Soma, and everyone was Happy!

We are just pawns in the game of life! the best we can do is to do what is most fun to us - and thats what I intend to do!

all we can do is play along..

Twouldnt work for me. I meant more, is there some way to buy them, or make them at home?

Why so steadfast in your posistion when we know so little of how our consciusness works and how our brain works.

So much to learn!

So little reason to claim what is or what is not!
