I gotta say something about keeping happy with happy hormones.

All that is mechanical, hard physical, non spontaneous and external pleasure. It's not what pleasure was meant for.

In any case, having pleasure like that that is going to have us get more and more concious of the true nature of our pleasure:

JUST A FEW NERVOUS IMPULSES IN THE BRAIN

Disheartening...

You may find such disheartening, but I find it the opposite. The prospect that I might be able to experience happiness is an intriguing one for me. What does it matter if tis real or artificial, if the brain cant tell the diffrence? Does it even make sense to describe it as artificial, if tis just the recreation by design of what the brain is supposed to do automatically?

i would say that i am generally neutral. i dont get excited about things to avoid letdown, and i dont sulk or whine (er, at least a little as possible). hell, dont got much to complain about, im livin'.

Well, maybe we all have a most basic wish to enjoy.

There happens to be a very basic human nature:

GETTING BORED OF THINGS

Why do we have pleasure, and happiness, and such stuff?

Evolutionary method of explaining: It's to direct ourselves to do the right thing.

Why do we get bored of some pursuits that were once good fun?

Evolutionary method of explaining: It's because thay don't payoff. Because they are a waste of time for the species.

So I'm saying that once we get happiness and pleasure at our own command, whenever we want it, It will become boring.

I can say so because I have a friend whom I was in contact with all through his one year married life. He described how the pleasures he was having at first (which, by the way I won't mention to preserve my moral picture) became less and less pursuable throughout the year.

So moral of the story:

Have pleasure for the reason it is not built for, and it will be wasted.

PS:

The prospect that I might be able to experience happiness is an intriguing one for me.
I suggest that you play some nice comuter games...

I am typing this watching the sunrise.

I just can't help but remark:

how beautiful it is.

I feel that we, as humans already have all the tools we need to be naturally happy. But we are ruining it for our selves

What is Happiness .. ??

Happiness firstly comes from the inside .. and is a state of mind ..

Happiness is also about knowing who you are .. and therefore is also a state of being in the mind of happiness ..

Happiness is also about knowing what you want ..

What dictates a happy person .. ??

Someone who knows what they want and feels they are on track for obtaining the ultimate desire .. happiness ..

Regards

Are you happy? HappytheStripper. :)

I think you might be. (because it says so in your username! :) )

Because you are contributing to the betterment of society. Helping people, raising a family, doing the best you can. And Hypography adds happiness too. :)

I think happiness is a form of satisfaction.

Not just knowing yourself, but accepting it. Knowing "hey, I'm not perfect, but I like myself, and I can do great/good things" :)

Lmao I also have a dog called happy ..

Everything in my life originates from the happiness of just "being" .. a bit like the universe .. happiness is self-aware ..

Yes happiness is a form of satisfaction .. internally .. and externally .. acceptance is the key ..

Am I happy?? Too right I am .. Be even happier when my imaginary husband comes home for the weelend .. lol :)

I work my buns off and I rarely sleep, but I feel like I'm working for a good cause, so I feel happy about it, even though it's hard as hell at the moment. So, I chose the second option from the top. It's not always peachy, I'm stressed out, but I get my moments in to reflect on how good I have it. No complaints here. :P

but I get my moments in to reflect on how good I have it.

Reflection is only .. providing a mirror image of what is seen .. not happiness within itself ..

Happiness comes from the experience of being self aware .. and realisation of the potential power within the self ..

You gave me a bad report for this article niviene :) Why?? Were you not happy with it .. ??

I suggest you go and take another look in your mirror .. and come back to me with an answer ..

Kind Regards

I've heard that one cant be truly happy if one has never been truly sad.

I guess that's a relatitvity thing then...

Everything is a relativity thing Ron. I am currently relatively happy to be relatively sad. Beer helps clarify the issue.:QuestionM
