Tormod Posted September 18, 2004 Report Posted September 18, 2004 In our Guitar Rig discussion I promised to post a song when I got my new PODxt virtual amp modeller up and running. Well, here goes. The track was created in Ableton Live 4. Simple mastering done in GoldWave. It's not exactly CD quality and I'm not an experienced producer but I hope someone likes it. Song: Alien Earth Groove (remix)Size: 4.34MBType: MP3 160kps Quote
Uncle Martin Posted September 19, 2004 Report Posted September 19, 2004 I like it. Why no lyrics? Really good job Though! Quote
Tormod Posted September 19, 2004 Author Report Posted September 19, 2004 Thanks! No lyrics because I shut up and play my guitar, okay? I can't write lyrics for the life of me. Anyway, I have remixed the song and will upload a new version soon, hopefully a bit tighter. The current version doesn't sound too good as an MP3... Quote
Tormod Posted September 23, 2004 Author Report Posted September 23, 2004 Okay, I have fixed the rhythm problems, added some synth pads and a bass part - plus revamped the drums. Hope it sounds more "final" now. Quote
Freethinker Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 Look out Satriani! I do recognize something in your rifs, but I can't quite figure the song it is from. This time it is not Almond flavored though! HEY! Just to make sure I was not screwing up the spelling of Almond again, I did a Google for "Almond Bros" and the 3rd listing was: Hypography Science Forums - Guitar Rig... I couldn't help but notice a bit of Almond Bros in the rifs. The key and rhythm. ... The "Almond Bros", are they the cousins of the Peach Boys? ...http://www.hypography.com/forums/messageview.cfm?catid=16& threadid=594&STARTPAGE=4&FTVAR_FORUMVIEWTM... - 80k - Cached - Similar pages 3rd listing? What are you doing wrong that is stopping you from getting #1? :-) Seriously though, great placement! Quote
Tormod Posted September 24, 2004 Author Report Posted September 24, 2004 Cool! Maybe The Petals see it and buy the rights to my song! Quote
BEAKER Posted November 3, 2004 Report Posted November 3, 2004 That was great Tormod! It took me three trys to down load it on my dial-up connection, but I finally got it. I thought it sounded excellent. I haven't read the end of that thread (guitar rig) lately, did you read the story about my guitar? I'm still planning to send a picture. There's always something eles to do. Quote
Tormod Posted November 4, 2004 Author Report Posted November 4, 2004 Thanks Beaker. I'll look for your guitar post. I am putting together a page at a different site with more of my music (it would kill our bandwith if I publish it all here)...I'll let you know when it's up. Quote
Freethinker Posted November 4, 2004 Report Posted November 4, 2004 Perhaps you might find this of interest http://www.axisofevil.cc/ Quote
Tormod Posted November 4, 2004 Author Report Posted November 4, 2004 LOL...don't tell me your son is one of them? Or is he the vanished drummer? Quote
Freethinker Posted November 4, 2004 Report Posted November 4, 2004 OK I won't tell you. And NO, he's not the drummer! Quote
Tormod Posted November 4, 2004 Author Report Posted November 4, 2004 They must be connected to some horrible terrorist group with a name like that. But no sweat, Mr Bush has a good grip on things now. Quote
Freethinker Posted November 5, 2004 Report Posted November 5, 2004 What's funny is that the group has not existed (vocalist and drummer gone) for years, but keeps getting offers for gigs! Or had before this election! Quote
DivineNathicana Posted December 7, 2004 Report Posted December 7, 2004 Here in NY, all of my friends' bands get tons of offers for gigs! If any of you know them, they get to open for bands like Nightwish, King Diamond, Symphony X, and many others on the contemporary metal scene. Granted, most of my friends' bands are really good... You know, Dickinson-inspired vocals, crazy riffs and all. But considering most members are no older than 22, it isn't THAT difficult to get good gigs around here... Good luck with your music, Tormod. = ) - Alisa Quote
Tormod Posted December 7, 2004 Author Report Posted December 7, 2004 Ooops. After the recent forum upgrade all attachments are magically gone. I re-uploaded the song so it's available in the first post now. Quote
