Great Words

 Here's a suggestion: instead of just listing a word, give a definition and/or use the word in a sentence. That way we can add the word to everyone's vocabulary.

The whole point is to make people look it up! The search is 90% of the fun!

You could start another thread and we could see which one is more popular though! :)

Thread for Great Words!

Jerk - such a great word! When you say "that guys a Jerk" you know exctly what they mean, and its not a swear word. :cup:

Kook - I love using this word. :D There are some kooky people out there.

Any other great words to add to this little "database"?

Is this whole thread based on a false premise?! :)

(Do I have to put a  or do you know me by now?)

In Australia we talk about people "Jerking Off" (masturbating: eek2:).

In Yiddish a jerk is a penis

# putz : an idiot, a jerk; a penis (from Yiddish פּאָץ pots)

and wiki says

Wanker literally means" "one who wanks"(masturbates). It is normally intended as a general insult rather than as an accusation. It conveys contempt, not commentary on normal sexual habits. Wanker has similar meanings and overtones to American pejoratives like "jerk",[1] "jerk-off", and "prick". One particular connotation is of someone self-obsessed or a show-off (usually male).[2]

So

"its not a swear word" ?:phones::doh:
