DougF Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 Thats not a stupid question Turtle, Turtle why haven't we found Bigfoot yet, I thought you were on a hunt.  Quote
Turtle Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 Thats not a stupid question Turtle, Turtle why haven't we found Bigfoot yet, I thought you were on a hunt.  :cup: :( How stupid of me to think it was. :) Now is a time I would actually like to go. What makes it a good time to go however is what makes it a bad time to go, which is snow. I do not currently have the means to go into the high cascades, but I'm planning for it. Here's my next stupid question: How do you know when you see a turtle on a fence post that it didn't get there by itself? Quote
REASON Posted February 2, 2008 Report Posted February 2, 2008 Here's my next stupid question: How do you know when you see a turtle on a fence post that it didn't get there by itself? The fence is more than 2 inches tall. Quote
Qfwfq Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 What happened in Dallas on November 22,1963? Whooooooops! :thumbs_up That ain't a stupid question..... ....it's a Stupid Answer! Quote
REASON Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 What happened in Dallas on November 22,1963? :) Whooooooops! :) That ain't a stupid question..... ....it's a Stupid Answer! Stupid me. Where'd you get your talent for subtlety, Q? Quote
Jet2 Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 How come?So what?Should we?Isn't it?Enough?Anymore? Quote
Jet2 Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 How many scientist does it take to change a light bulb? Quote
freeztar Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 How many scientist does it take to change a light bulb? Depends on how much grant money is available. :) Quote
Pyrotex Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 How many scientist does it take to change a light bulb? You're crazy. No scientist in his or her right mind just "changes a light bulb". First of all, there's analysis and modelling. You have to demonstrate feasibility from first principles. Maybe go to a conference and put up a poster. Get some technical feedback. Finally, you have to carefully make your assumptions. Like, assuming perfectly spherical race horses. On average, approximately 2.78183 scientists, for a standard metric lightbulb in the energy range of 10^28 to 10^38 electron-volts. Quote
sanctus Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 By the way why is the electron-Volt abbreviated as eV and not [imath]e^-V[/imath] or elV? Quote
Pyrotex Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 By the way why is the electron-Volt abbreviated as eV and not [imath]e^-V[/imath] or elV?why are you asking such a stupid question??? :hihi::evil::hihi: I think it has something to do with the Dutch. They're always capitalizing the second letter in words. Maybe. Quote
Qfwfq Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 Stupid me. :phones: Where'd you get your talent for subtlety, Q?Ooops, sorry, I wasn't talking about your answer (which kinda outsmarted Turtle:hihi:), I was talking about these ones. Quote
REASON Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 Ooops, sorry, I wasn't talking about your answer (which kinda outsmarted Turtle:hihi:), I was talking about these ones. Gotcha, thanks! ;) I'm not a mathematician so here's a potentially stupid question: What does the equation in your avatar symbolize? :phones: It's very interesting. Quote
Qfwfq Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 Well, it's not a stupid question, only a not-a-physicist question, so it doesn't qualify for this thread! :phones: Anyway it's a compact form of the Dirac equation. Quote
REASON Posted February 6, 2008 Report Posted February 6, 2008 Well, it's not a stupid question, only a not-a-physicist question. Is there a similar low grade contempt that exists between mathematicians and pysicists, such as you'll find between architects and engineers? Anyway it's a compact form of the Dirac equation. Excellent! An opportunity to learn. I'll look it up. :phones: Quote
Boerseun Posted February 7, 2008 Author Report Posted February 7, 2008 What's a "pysicist"? Sounds definitely medical to me... "Hand me the urine sample, you old pysicist, you..." Quote

"Hand me the urine sample, you old pysicist, you...":lol::lol: uhh.....yeah.....umm.....right, well, I was trying to make the question seem even stupider.....yeah, that's what it was. Supider! :phones: Quote
