People are mistaken when they say that "666 is the number of the devil".

Clearly, if you have some familiarity with the book of Revelation in the Bible, you would see that 666 has been misrepresented.

666 is not the "devil's number", but simply a numerical value given to "the beast", which is a physical manifestation of evil in the "end times".

Also, according to the book of Kings, 666 is the number of talents (a unit of mass) that Solomon received annually.

Another possible explanation is this:

The number 7 holds much power throughout the Bible. It is often reffered to as "God's number" because it's mentioned so many times and represents perfection. If you consider the fact that Christians believe in the Holy Trinity (father, son, holy spirit), you would get three 7s >>> 777. Since Satan is being the 2nd most powerful being (next to God), you could assume one less than 7 = 6. Therfore 777 >> 666.

 

I don't know. It's all open for interpretation. I just thought I'd offer my few cents worth. :)
