Roadam Posted June 10, 2006 Author Report Posted June 10, 2006 Big thanks Tim_Lou. All the tests I have done shows that most important is only R/r and M of course. Well, I still have a machine which throws a stone about 12 meters forward. Maybe I will use 50 kg weight(10 kg now) and a lever 2 meters long(1 meter) and some bigger wheel(if I find bigger than .6 meters in diameter). Quote
anglepose Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 You should have seen the heliopolis i made i fired it thinking it would go no where but it flew over 3 blocks (bout 500 m ) It was so good.To make it you get 3 planks of wood 2 planks of a flexi wood like spruce i think and 1 of a wood like yew you put them together and mak a giant cross bow. anglepose Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 when i was about ten i love medievel weapons and at my mates house we made with a big pole and some bricks and a ladder a 10 metre or so trebouchete and fired it across the feild. Quote
anglepose Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 has anyone seen the scrapheap challenge where they made a trebuechet to fire a mini (bmw car) it completely collapsed Quote
cwes99_03 Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 BTW a Mini is not a BMW. It is a Cooper. Quote
cwes99_03 Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 Wow, Angel. Take a breath and reread your posts please. You may want to edit those last three. Quote
Roadam Posted June 12, 2006 Author Report Posted June 12, 2006 I havent seen the show, but how large was that trebuchet. Mini weights around 1000kg. Are you sure that they didnt launch a stone at mini? As for my leverwheel, it is now equipped with 3meter pole but yust 10 kg weight. Tim Lou, that formula really works. What is the secret behind trebuchet? Quote
InfiniteNow Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 BTW a Mini is not a BMW. It is a Cooper. Really? Huh... So what's up with the following? http://www.forbes.com/2001/12/10/1210feat_9.htmlOne thing to remember: The Mini in any spec will be superior to several cars on our list because it gets BMW technology (BMW owns Mini) at far less than typical BMW pricing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mini_CooperMINI is both the name of a subsidiary of BMW, and a car produced by that subsidiary since 2001 Quote
Roadam Posted June 12, 2006 Author Report Posted June 12, 2006 Well discussion about whether mini is or is not BMW is for another part of the forum. Quote
Jay-qu Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 how bout the show that strapped rockets to a mini and sent it off a ski jump! But yes this is for another part of the forum if people wish to discuss it futher :naughty: Quote
cwes99_03 Posted June 14, 2006 Report Posted June 14, 2006 Well I suppose that is like saying that an s-type is a Ford, since Ford owns Jaguar. Anyway, good to hear about the trebuchet/wheel device. Only simple geometry and almost no physics is needed. Quote
anglepose Posted June 16, 2006 Report Posted June 16, 2006 http://www.channel4.com/science/microsites/S/scrapheap2002/challenges/CarFlinger/Result.html check this sequence out Quote
