Nice to see a sense of maturity on a forum. Nice change of pace from the myspace/aol scene.

I'm sure I'll run into a grammer nazi from time to time, which is only helping me out. So keep um coming.

I'd like to know if there are any threads that I should definatly read through, I don't see any "Hall of Fame/Vault/Best of" sections so if you have a bookmarked thread that I should see, then I'd like to see it.

Also, I'm just starting the whole reading books thing, better late then never. I ordered "Food of the gods" by {hxxp://deoxy.org/mckenna.htm} Terence McKenna, and "Ideas Have Consequensences" by Richard Weaver. First one I'll read will probably be "Food of the gods" which is suposed to be about the drug theory of evolution.

Quote from I believe Terence and his brother:

[First voice]

...These symptoms suggested that our evolution, I suppose, from the animal kingdom into the human kingdom itself was catalyzed, or triggered by our encounter with these hallucenogenics, and...

[second voice]

...Yes, we are an ape with a symbiotic relationship to a mushroom, and that has given us self reflection, language, religion and all the spectrum of effects that flow from these things...

[First voice again]

...And one can only wonder how these hallucinogens might effect our future evolution as well...

[second voice again]

...They have brought us to this point, and as we make our relationship to them concious, we may be able to take control of our furute evolutionary path...

Found in the song "Monolith" by the heavy metal group "Mudvayne"

Both should be good books, so when I'm done I'll try to give a little book report, for each book, if anyone that would like to read my insight I'll keep you posted. Suggestions to other, must read, books can be sent to my inbox.

Some of our members have started just this in the welcome forum, look at the top post here:

Book reports are always welcome, we have a lot of book worms around here (I am one of them). In our Books, movies and games forum you'll find some threads that might be of interest to you:

Ah, I expected a dedicated, closed, forum for the great threads to be moved into, so that's what I was looking for.

Alot of other vB forums I've visited kept their funny, dramatic threads you have to read to understand common catch phrases for historical purpose. Giving new members and lurkers a chance to catch up on what went on, so their not too lost with what goes on.

Something that has proven worth in the past, but also might not be too much importance here. Different strokes for different folks.

I'll stick with this thread, as well as reading up on other threads, when I have the time.
