Alluvia Posted June 11, 2006 Report Posted June 11, 2006 I look forward to sharing thoughts with all of you on: dark matter, string theory, etc. Those two subjects may require more than a sentence or two. Alluvia Quote

InfiniteNow Posted June 12, 2006 Report Posted June 12, 2006 Hello Alluvia, Welcome to Hypography. While a sentence or two on those heady topics may be appreciated, any thought which is understood allows articulation by such a limited amount of verbiage. I've always wondered why it's called "String Theory," since a theory should make testable predictions. Maybe "String Hypothesis" instead? :) Maybe we can figure it out together. Cheers. :) Quote

Alluvia Posted June 13, 2006 Author Report Posted June 13, 2006 Gee what a great site with all the little critters (smilies), and great people to welcome me. Infinite Now: Reading your message I notice at the bottom of the page Junior Moderator. Is that something like a baby moderator? With your silver tongue and use of the kings english the title strikes me as being funny. And yes, I believe we will be able to commune on said topics. Although my field is not natural science, interest is present. Kayra: Basically everything starts out as being simple. Yet I wonder if man confuses the issue and the "simple" becomes complex? Big Dog: Thanks for the heads up. Quote

I'm the three armed baby of Hypo moderators. So, what is the going rate on silver tongues these days? I hear gold is up, but I cannot imagine that would taste too good on the palette. Anyway, upon further reflection I've decided that it would be more appropriate to call it the "String Conjecture." Cheers. :hihi: Quote
Alluvia Posted June 15, 2006 Author Report Posted June 15, 2006 Infinite Now- Conjecture --A throwing or putting of things together. So, what are you stating? That we are going to throw ideas in the air and see if they stick to the wall? Here's a site that I find interesting superstringtheory.com. Especially check out strings & gravitons. Infinite Now how did you pick that name? Infinite meaning-not finite. Now meaning present time. As for the silver---personally I prefer platinum. Although silver's good. Alluvia Quote
