Vagabond -SC2- Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 you could use a cross-over cable but the data transfer is a little slow but for a keyboard should be ok What port are you plugging you keyboard into?? Quote
bunbun Posted June 27, 2006 Author Report Posted June 27, 2006 in the ps2 port where it should go iv had several people trying and it wont recognise the keyboard, i borrowed a keyboard connector that plugs in somewhere else to see if it was the keyboards socket n it doesnt recognise it, my brother might of not placed the right wires on the motherboard correctly Quote
Vagabond -SC2- Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 ummm interesting. Now these are just ideas not sure if they are feasible or if they will even help but here ya go: -Can one use a volt meter to see if the PS2 plug is functional.-In your bios settings is there an option to turn on/off the ps2? or turn on other keyboard ports?-Can you boot in safe mode (not sure you operating system) but in some you can actually watch as the computer goes though each set and see if it there is something there.- Try to boot off a disk and see if the keyboard is recognized there. (if it is then it could be operating system issue). If i think of anything else off the wall i will post. good luck Chacmool 1 Quote
