learnin to learn Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 lol i will most likely start asking tomorrow!!! especially if we get out physics books!! Quote
TheBigDog Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 Does any1 know anything about oceanography? I didnt even sign up for the course! It could always play out like this...Diane: What's going on over here?Woman at beach: There is a beached whale, she's dying.Voice: Is anyone here a marine biologist? (At the beach everyone is yelling at George) Crowd: Come on! Save the whale! Hurry up it's gonna die!Diane: Save the whale George... for me. (He turns and throws his hat down. He walks into the ocean) (At the coffee shop Jerry and Kramer are awaiting the story) George: So I started to walk into the water. I won't lie to you boys, I was terrified! But I pressed on and as I made my way passed the breakers a strange calm came over me. I don't know if it was divine intervention or the kinship of all living things but I tell you Jerry at that moment I was a marine biologist! The sea was angry that day my friends, like an old man trying to return soup at a deli! I got about fifty-feet out and then suddenly the great beast appeared before me. I tell ya he was ten stories high if he was a foot. As if sensing my presence he gave out a big bellow. I said, "Easy big fella!" And then as I watched him struggling I realized something was obstructing his breathing. From where I was standing I could see directly into the eye of the great fish! Jerry: Mammal. George: Whatever.Take the course! It might pay off some day. Bill Quote
learnin to learn Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 :hihi: :hihi: I remember that episode of Seinfeld! It is one of my favorites!!! It ended up that one of the golf balls Cramer was hitting into the ocean was stuck in the whales blow hole!:hihi: Quote
Jay-qu Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 take it if your interested, thats always been my methodology. If your interested in it then it is easier to do the work :rose: This semester I am taking the same subjects as last one: Maths, Physics, Astronomy and IT (I skipped to 2nd yr maths :eek2: ) Quote
learnin to learn Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 so far my physics class is incredible! we spent most of the class discussing E=mc^2 and how energy and mass are related. Then we began a video from Cal Tech, on amazing mathematicians such as Sir Isaac Newton, Galileo, and many others! Pre-cal would be interesting if the teacher was not such a drag!:hihi: Quote
