hello ive got physics home work to do for monday i have to write about the sound an object makes when it cuts through the air (like swing a baseball bat) you hear the whooshing sound

 

can someone please tell me what this sound is called and why it does it?

Sound is a wave that propagates by the compression and decompression of air particles.

 

Here on this forum we try not to just give away the full answer (because then you wont learn anything!) but instead give you clues, like the above, to help you work it out. If you are really struggling come back and ask some more questions :cup:
