themartuigan Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 i think that one of what my problems are is the fact that i dont know what i want to learn about. I could tell you what it is my interests have been changing too but i dont know the first place to start by learning what it is that i actually want to learn. WHY? because i dontk now what any of it is called. I am like a newborn baby child wanting to learn everything all over again. EVERYTHING i ever thought I knew was false and wrong and i didnt know anything and now i sit here wanting to know but cannot go back to kindergarden again i cant go back to highschool. so i am lost and i dont know where to start but I want to LeaRN everything that a person learns in a lifetime. RIGHT NOW> help me < somebody ...is is possible? Quote
Mercedes Benzene Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 Ummmm.............. May I ask why you want/need to learn "Everything" all over again? And on that point, I'm not so sure this is the best place to learn "everything"; just everything that has to do with science. I will be more than happy to teach you what I know, although no doubt there are many far wiser than I in these forums.... but if it's chemistry you want, I've got you covered! Send me a private message if you want. :) --MercedesBenzene-- Quote
IDMclean Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 Well, I would think it advisable to start with normative ethics. That is what you learn in kendergarden, I do believe. Language, how many do you know? You seem to write, with some proficency at least. Mathematics. What operations can you perform? This is just another language, and a very usefull one to learn for the more academic endevours. It;s like science, very broad and has many paths that one may wander down for, seemingly, ever. You have the basics, like counting. Then there is addition, subtraction, multipulcation, division, undefined terms, Set theory, Quadratics, Matrices, Linear, non-linear, geometery, trigonomtry, euclidian, non-euclidian, differentials, integrals, and some things I don't know the names of... very big field. Science, this is a wide berth and not for the faint of heart. Often Sciences require some proficency in the previous field (math) but differ depending on what you study. We have the super categories. Biology, Mechanics, Chemistry, Sociology, Anthropology, Politics, Psychology, and Economics. From this we get a large number of synthetic Sciences, which are refinements, or narrowing of scope of other fields, and/or combonations. Like Bio-Chemistry, for instances, Newtonian Physics, Quantum physics, Psycho-history, Socio-economics. Many, many fields and once again a large number of rabbit holes to get lost down forever. You have Philosophy, and Theology. Which like Science are paths to search for the truth, whatever it maybe. All of these have their dogmas, there assumetions proofs and such. Each is richely faceted and not completely explored. Each can exist as a new, or old field in synthesis of any other field. So I guess what it comes down to, is this. Where did you come from, what did you learn and what do you want to know more about. Irregardless of wheather what one learns is correct or not, the important thing is that you learned something. Teach me what you know, and I will teach you in turn, what I know. In synthesis with one another, eventually, in theory we should come to know something. Quote

Moving on to the city you live in, state and country. These are pressing issues that most older people think about. So why not start in that direction? I say learn about yourself t-mart, then work from the inside out. Not saying you'll find yourself on the first swing, but you'll inch closer. Quote
